Hey! Mq! I do not think everyone has to go on a liquid diet B4 the surgery, it really depends on your weight i think..... I was @ Dr Ortiz oficce about three weeks ago just for a consultation and he wants me to to lose some weight B4 the surgery.... i also spoke to Dr miranda that day and she got me started on a diet and she di advised that shw would have me go on a liquid diet 15 days b4 i have my surgery ..... anyways! i hope this helps.... you can also give'em a call and i'm sure they will wal u back.. Dr. Ortiz is a great guys and has a wonderful staff.... Good luck with your surgery!!

well! in my case my parents did not like the idea of me having a surgery to lose weigh, but hey it was my health that was at stake, my life was at risk,, and honestly i would not have care if they did not support me.... i would still go ahead with the procedure...Thnx GOd i met Dr. Ortiz Yesterday and he helped me convinced my parents that the procedure was safe and that it would work... maybe u can do the same thing....Dr ortiz is a great guy and he will make u feel confortable..... u shouldn;t care about other people's opinion, and their opinions should not affect your decision... U should only think about yourself and be selfish, others are not suffering and going through the things u go throuhg because of your weight!! keep it up!!! and good luck!!

Hey!! how yall guys doing!! well guess what?? i had my consultation yesterday with Dr ortiz.... what a great guy.. the way he talks and explains the stuff makes u feel confortable.... he was very helpful and he answered all my questions. I had my parents with me and B4 we went in they were upset and they thought i was crazy they did not want me to even considered having the surgery.. after talking with Dr. ortiz they changed their mind and now r very supportive... they think i should do it.... Unfortunatly i was not able to book my surgery rght away because Dr. ortiz wants me to lose some weight prior to the surgery.. he got me an appoinment with his nutritionist right after i talk to him and was able to see her, and she started me on a very strict diet.... i'm hoping i can stick to it ad meet my goals...i just hope i'll be able to get banded as soon as possible... i've made up my mind and will have the surgery as soon as dr ortiz think its safe for me to go under the knife.... Dr' ortiz is a great guy, very sociable, and is very helpful, the facilities r great, clean, even a lot more nicer than some dr's offices here in the states!! i'll keep u guys posted on how my weight loss is going!! ...

hey!! how yall doing... well it is the first time i'm posting a message here, but i've beenr reading U all for quite a while now.... i have a consultation nxt week with Dr' ortiz! nd will probably be scheduling my surgery for the following month. i have made up my mind and decided to have this surgery... but i do have some conerns and want to know if u guys can give me some feedback or tell me how your experience was..... i know that there are many risk involved when having the surgery ( erosion, slippage, etc) As many of u! i'm going to mexico to have the surgery cause i don;t have a medical insurance here in the states and i'l be paying for the surgery... my major concern is with aftercare.... i'm planning to have my fills in TJ . i live in LA and TJ is pretty close. After reading a few of your responses i've realized that arranging for aftercar b4 the surgery its very important... and this is what i'm worried about... how much is it gonna cost me if the bands slips and need to have a surgery again to put it back on its place, or if they need to replace the band... u know i'm not rich!! has any of you guys ever had any of this problems?? i would really appreciate if u could help me out! and tell me how your experiences was.
