Hey guys... i just got banded on 2/27 and have been following post op diet to the letter. i am now on day 7 with slim fast, broth and liquids...and the slim fast is going right thru me (sorry about tmi:) the problem is that i am ABSOLUTELY STARVING!! is this normal? the paperwork Dr. Miranda gave me said that i should NOT be hungry at all, but this is NOT the case!! major hunger pains!! what can i eat at this point that will give me some ENERGY to be able to think and work?? i am getting extremely lightheaded...not good:(( any suggestions would really be appreciated!! thanks, lisa >

just got banded 2/27/07...have called Dr. Martinez twice and got him both times on his cell phone! He is ALWAYS very helpful and explains everything thoroughly!! Also, Dr. Ortiz took my call on a Sunday (before surgery) to answer my numerous anoying questions...very patient with me! that's when i knew i was going to the right doc!! They are ALL amazing...can't say enough about them!! good luck lisa

it is nothing like that! no choking...major gas pain for a few days till it works itself out, and some pain at the incision sites...that's about it!! you can kinda feel someting is "there" and restriction when you eat (even liquids for me) but that is what it's supossed to do!! good luck!! lisa

hi, Dr. Ortiz just banded me on 2/27. I chose him because i live in AZ and it would be close and convenient for fills... i can't even express enough how thoroughly IMPRESSED i was with Dr. Ortiz, Dr. Martinez, the facility and the entire staff there in TJ!! i myself was VERY sceptical of Mexico as well, but trust me...they are TOP NOTCH, CLEAN and on par with ANY American facility that you might choose! they are also in your backyard, so why would you go elsewhere? they truly are the BEST...really! I researched for one year and finally decided on Dr. Ortiz...plus he took my call on his cell phone on a Sunday and answered ALL of my annoying questions!! i was a big chicken and he and Dr. Martinez are SO GREAT that it took all of the paranoia out of my decision. I just returned home last night and even called Dr. Martinez directly on his cell with a question and again...nothing but WONDERFUL to me!! i can't say enough about my experience there!! hope that helps you...gppd lucl whatever you decide!! lisa
