  1. Hi, Cyndi! I had my first fill with Wendy yesterday. She was great, two pokes and then she found it. She put in 2ccs at first but I felt nothing, so she put in 3ccs and still nothing, so I ended up with 4ccs. I still really felt nothing until about 1/2 hour later. NOW I feel restriction. Surprisingly I have kept 12lbs since surgery and 12lbs preop, OFF, with really no restriction. Now I have to learn to eat slowly and chew forever and watch the weight go. Michele in Mesa
  2. Hi! I would love to get together. I am now just waiting to have my first fill. Michele in Mesa
  3. Hi, Arizona Bandsters! I was banded April 6th. When should I get my first fill? I was thinking of calling Wendy or going to the Fill Center USA in Mesa. Any advice is appreciated. Michele
  4. Hi, Teri! I had my surgery with Dr. Ortiz on April 6th, amd lost 12lbs before surgery. Everything went really well and met amazing ladies. I do have questions about feeling really weak in the mornings. Is that normal? I am not sure what to do? Michele in Mesa
  5. I am banded!!! April 6th was the day. We drove home to Arizona on the 7th and I had to make it through 4 hours of a family gathering (my brother's birthday) while they ate fruit, chips and lemon cake, yesterday. I loved Dr. Ortiz and his staff, and really the women I met while there were amazing. Everyone was so supportive and friendly. "Hi!" April 5th and 6th bandsters. Michele (320/308/?/160) (highest/surgery day/today/goal)
  6. Hi! I am not on the medifast diet, and I am nervous but really not trying to think about it. I am driving to San Diego tomorrow afternoon, what about you? Michele
  7. Thank you, Teri! What is PM? and how do I do it? Michele
  8. Hi! I noticed that no one has been very active on the boards lately. How is everyone doing on this journey. I would love to hear your stories and if anyone is willing to be a "penpal" for me. I would really like to have someone to ask questions to and about where to get certiain items. I live in Mesa. My surgery is April 6th. Please let me know if you would be willing to be my mentor. I look forward to hearing from you all. Michele
  9. Hi, I am April 6th, as well. I will be coming in late Thursday night from Arizona. I hope to meet you both. Michele
  10. Thank you, Pamela! Oh, I want to do my best, but why do they act like we should be able to do this. If we could would we be having the surgery?? How much have you lost so far? When did you have your surgery? Michele
  11. Hi, Larissa! I was so happy to read your posting. Dr. Miranda wants me to lose 16 lbs in 30 days. If I could do that I wouldn't be here, right? I told her that I have PCOS (which makes it harder to lose). So, I am so nervous about not losing enough before surgery. I weigh 320 now, but in November I was 305 lbs with a 38 bmi. Will they cancel the surgery?? My first weigh in is this Friday. ~Michele (April 6th - Surgery date) 5"8" (320/320/150) Just wondering if any of you post ops had the feeling of failing before you went. I am so excited to be having this surgery but so scared at the same time. I talked to Dr. Miranda yesterday and she wants me to lose 30 lbs by my surgery date of March 27th. My first reaction was to say are you nuts, but then I got to thinking she is a dr. and knows what she is thinking. After I hung up the phone I was thinking if I could do this then why do I need surgery? What if I don't make it do they turn me away? what about my non refundable airline ticket? I am not giving up and I will give this all I have to give, It is only for a month and I think I can stick to it, I just don't know if the body will shed the fat that fast! :-? Am I worrying for nothing??? CHeers and High hopes Larissa
  12. Heather, My mom is coming with me and possibly my son and my dad. I hope to meet you.
  13. Hi! I just scheduled my surgery for April 6th. I live in Mesa. Two weeks ago I scheduled a gallbladder and band surgery with Dr. Blackstone in Scottsdale, but the more I thought about paying $16,500, I couldn't do it. I am so happy to have made this decision. I feel it is the right one for me. I am really worried about losing 16 lbs in 30 days. I am scared that I won't be able to do it. I have PCOS and a hypothyroid. I have to remind myself that it is short term and that nothing will taste as good as thin feels.
  14. Hi, Heather! I have been on Metformin for my PCOS, but my liver was not reacting well. Now I am on Actos. The Metformin is usually for Type 2 Diabetes and my reproductive endo had me on 2000 mg a day. I usually helps with weight loss, but not for me! Thank you for saying "hi"! Michele
  15. Hi! I am new to this group. I just set my surgery date with Lori yesterday. It is for April 6th. I talked to Dr. Miranda and she wanted me to lose 16 -17 pounds in 15 days, but I told her that I have PCOS and hypothyroid, so she told me to start the diet 30 days out (which is today). 1 shake and 2 Lean Cuisines. Has anyone been banded and had PCOS? Have you lost weight? Was it quickly or slowly? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Michele
