  1. B vitamins are not on my post-op list but I may go get some. I'm a faithful multi-vitamin taker but the ones I have are too big for me to swallow so I got some children's chewable. My son told me go to the health food store. Thanks for the info.
  2. I was banded on 3/19 and have all the gas and stuff that I've read about here. I do have a question, Has anyone else seemed extremely tired ? Although I haven't I feel like laying down and taking a nap all the time. Any suggestions?
  3. From what I've heard from people who had there's done before I did they went right back to work if they had a easy job like an offfice job. If you do something very physical it's like much more. I'm a daycare provider and Monday will be a week and I'm having my kids then. I only have one infant and she's 11 months old so hope I can everything with her on the floor.
  4. My band was on Monday. I was up walking that evening. After every walk I had dry heaves and I still have lots of gas. The gas that bothers me is whats in the shoulder. I have several nurse friends that tell me that will be gone in a couple of day. Whenever they told me that I weighed 120 kilos which converts into 265 pounds I knew they were wrong so I went to our local clinic to be weighed and weighed 215. The doctor said I probably had already lost 5 pounds but have decided to use 215 as my beginning weight. I'm really looking forward to doing a weigh-in next week. I'm going to really work to keep everything going right during these first 4 weeks. I need a good jump start.
  5. Thanks for the info. Since I needed to go shopping today I'll get the GasX. Where are you going to get yours done. I'm glad to know there will be a lot of support because I've been yoyoing with my weight for so many years that it will be nice to get it down and keep it there. Boy, do I hate that 264.5 pounds. My son is getting married at the end of May and I hope to look more like the mother of the groom than the blimp of the groom.
  6. Hi everyone, I'm Linda from Texas and just got home today from Monterrey, Mexico where I had my lap band put on. I guess I'm kind of in a limbo or something because I think of many things that could go wrong. My son tells me I'm a worry wort. One question I have is I have pain in my left shoulder they said was from the anistesia and I was wondering how long that would last. I also have diaria , I guess from both the antibiotic and the barium they gave me when they did the e-ray. I sure hope that quits soon because it's really embarrassing with so much gas. I'm going to try to get on this site every day for inspritation. While in Mexico I met a lady who had hers done a year ago and was there for a face life. She said she felt great. At the airport another lady had hers done a year ago and was back for a refill. Another lady had just had it done the same day I did, Monday. Thanks for listening. I'll probably be writing a lot for info. Does anyone know in pounds how much 120 kilos are. That's what they said I waid but I can't believe the conversion I read. According to it I gained over 40 pounds since October.
