  1. Hello, I had my lapband put in @ OCC 11/05. I lost 65 pounds. My lowest weight was 141 @ 5'2". In the last 18 months I have had massive changes in my life. I got a divorce after 30 years, retired from teaching for 30 years and moved into my own place for the first time ever. Also had glaucoma surgery. I have regained 20 pounds. I am much happier but I haven't been eating and exercising as I should. My band does still work but not as well. I have found ways around it, waiting for a while to eat more, liquids, and a nasty sugar addiction. Have I ruined my lapband? Would a fill help? I've only had one since its placement. I need help to get back on track. Anyone out there have some hope for me? Fifi
  2. Hi LBDancer Thanks for your response. Three years ago I went through the hoops for a Gastric Bypass. My insurance company said that I hadn't tried "hard" enough & that I wasn't heavy enough either. I gave up until 10/05. I had LB done in TJ because they had much more experience (2,000) compared to here (50). Without insurance here was $19,000. TJ with Dr Ortiz was 9,500. We took out a loan to pay for it & we have never regreted it thus far. Good luck with insurance, maybe yours will be more lenient. Fifi
  3. My surgery date is set for November 8th. I understand Dr Miranda has a special diet for the week before. I know I'll get a copy from her. Does anyone have the info or any suggestions for doing well on it. Also anything anyone can tell me about the experience that would help, I'd surely appreciate. Fifi
  4. I'm scheduled for lapband 11/8 with Dr Ortiz. Any tips on making the time in TJ & return trip easier would be appreciated. Also I have a wicked AM addiction to Diet Dr Pepper and would like to have stopped before I go down there. Anyone gone through this experience? Thank you
