  1. Stress!!! I think this could be it. I was promoted to a new job in January which is the time my band, all of a sudden, got too tight. In May my company laid off 300 employees and I had the job of working at the "Exit Center" checking people out....very stressful. My new job comes with a lot of milestones. When I started my new job I lost 16lbs right away, but I've gained 4 back so technically I'm still 12lbs lighter but still had to have an un-fill.....so it has to be stress. I tried a glass of wine last night before dinner and was able to eat >!!!! The glass of wine relaxed me. Okay you pro's out there...since I cannot drink wine every night or at every meal, what other methods for relaxing do you suggest. As most of you, I am very busy. I work full time, have a husband and kids so my time for such relaxation is limited.
  2. Just curious about band erosion. Has anybody's Inamed band ever eroded? What are the symptoms, if any? Just curious.
  3. I have the 4cc band. I currently only have ~1.25cc. All fluid is removed, to measure, before adding. But my most curiosity is why am I okay for months before I start feeling too tight (the last time it was 8months before I felt too tight).
  4. I was banded in 8/05. My last fill was May 2007. Last May 08 I had to have .25 cc's removed because since January 08 my band had gotten very tight to the point that where I could not sleep flat on my back, some nights, without having reflux and waking up coughing. I had always been a little too tight in mornings but I had been completely fine, otherwise, until then. I waited so long to get some removed because I thought I had irritated my band and was waiting for the swelling/irritation to go down...no such luck not even with a liquid diet. Even my liquids were getting stuck. I am now experiencing somewhat of the same...Why does my band continue to get too tight? In addition I have been burping and sliming alot even with just some liquids. I know many of us women get a little tight during the time around our menstrual cycles and possibly even a few days during ovulation...but what's the deal man....this is so annoying !! It is too difficult to have meals in mixed company anymore:(( :bad: as only less than a handful of people know I have it.
  5. Okay, it has been 2 1/2 years since I was banded. I've lost ~35lbs>< (I had a lower BMI so the weight loss is a slower). Lately, for the last month, I can't seem to get much down. I haven't had a fill in ~8 months or so. I seem to be very tight. Last night I couldn't barely get 3 small plain broiled chicken wing drumettes down and keep them down and I seem to be burping a lot . Anybody else experience this and/or does anybody have any suggestions.
  6. Just an FYI - Dr. Ortiz's office charges $100 for the flouroscopy . Yes, the fills are free but there is still an out-of-pocket expense for the fill procedure.....sorry to disappoint you
  7. PB=Productive Burping, you will no longer be able to "throw up" , so to speak, it will only be productive burping.
  8. I have been researching erosion and all the articles I have read state that the regular use of aspirin and/or Ibuprophen are leading causes of erosion and use should be limited . I can state for myself and my sister (we both have been banded) that at no time did Dr. Ortiz/Dr. Martinez or any of their staff ever mention anything like this to us nor was it in any of the paper work given to us. Did you have regular use of aspririn/Ibuprofen?
  9. I just had my first fill with Dr. Martinez, such a nice, nice man . He went through the "first fill talk" where he suggested that I have an endoscopy in my second year. Has anybody had one with the Dr. in TJ?...can't remember his name. If so, what did it cost and how did it go?

  11. Unfortunately none of these Dr.'s, on this list will see patients banded by other physicians not in the U.S. I guess I'll have to force my schedule and go to TJ. Oh Well.
  12. I was banded on 8/12/05 and have been too busy to get back to TJ for a fill. Does anybody know of any doctors in Central California that will fill patients that have had their bands placed by other surgeons?
