  1. I was told something interesting by my Dr. about the band being tighter in the mornings. He said that it is usually because you have eaten too much the night before and some of it is still in your pouch the next morning. He says that the warm fluids in the morning is just washing that food through the band and then you can eat again. Not sure if this is the cause all the time because I do believe that your body swells at night but since I have stopped eating late and so much at night I am not tight in the morning anymore and can finally eat breakfast again. I am also not as hungry at night when I can eat my three meals. Heather
  2. Hi Allan For me it was about 2 weeks before I even felt hungry again and my Dr. said that was a good sign that the swelling had gone down. The gas is uncomfortable but should subside in about a week and yes the walking will help to get rid of it. Just remember how important it is to stay hydrated and sip water as often as you can. My Dr. told me to drink out of coffee stir sticks to lessen the amount of air I swallowed when I drank to keep from producing more gas. Congratulations and good luck on the journey ahead!
  3. I live in Oakdale and am having my surgery on Oct. 27th I have also found the zip code web site it is www.asbs.org. Click the button on top that says patients and then click on member search. It will then ask you for your zip code. Our closest Dr is in pleasanton! I hope this help. Let me know who you find and how you like them. Thanks, Heather
