  1. Hi there, I just had surgery on 12/1/05. All I can say is it was the best thing I've ever done. Honestly I'd rather go through that surgery again then go to a dentist for a cavity. It is so easy, you're up and walking right after surgery. You're sore for a while afterwards but nothing too bad. The more you walk the better you'll feel, I recommend walking around Tijuana and shopping, it takes your mind off the surgery and really helps you get rid of all the gas in your stomach. The doctors are so nice, and so are the nurses. You might want to brush up on a little spanish before you go, just because the nurses don't speak much english, but they try really hard. The worst part about the surgery is that you're on liquids for 3 weeks afterwards. That's not too bad though... I've already lost 21lbs so I think it was definately worth it. I recommend popcicles when you're on the liquid part... really helps you feel like you're actually getting to eat something. Well, good luck and if you have any questions feel free to contact me.
  2. I had surgery on 12/1/05 and I had a wonderful experience! I still have some port pain, but only if I'm sitting for a long time and then stand up, or lay on my stomache wrong when I'm trying to sleep. Overall it's great though. I've already lost 21 lbs and boy can I feel a difference already. I can't feel anything around my stomache. The first few weeks I felt really swollen but that's about it. The only time I can feel the band is when I drink something really cold... it feels like it's going through a funnel. It was such an easy procedure, you're up and walking the same day. The hardest part is being on liquids for the first few weeks afterwards.
  3. I've lost 21 lbs since 1 week prior to surgery. I had surgery on 12/1/05. I'm now on solid foods but my weight loss has basically came to a halt. Is it too soon to get my first fill? How much weight is everyone else losing? I'm worried that I may be doing something wrong. I'm trying not too eat very much but it's hard because I feel like I can eat just as much now as I could pre-surgery. What types of foods have you all been eating that help you feel satisfied w/out being high in calories?
  4. I'm going to be going down to TJ for my first fill, hopefully really soon. Just wanted to see if anyone else is on their way down. I'll be coming from Seattle... it'd be nice to meet up with someone and go over the border.
