  1. I was just wondering if anyone since having the lapband surgery drink any types of fiber drinks that they have to mix up in the morning just to stay regular with their bowel movements. Curious Karmel wants to know. If you do has there been a problem getting the fiber down. I am seriously thinking about doing some fiber drinks for my system. Karmel
  2. Cheryl, I take Centrum as well, but I take the orange flavored chewable multi-vitamin. Why don't you switch to that one. Not bad at all because I refuse to do the liquid. Try that one and see how you like it. Karmel
  3. Congrats on your upcoming surgery. The bottom line you will love the end result and you know what it comes down to you not living to eat, but eat to live. Which that is a wonderful feeling. You will be shocked at how quickly your eating habits will change. I had my surgery on May 22nd and I am doing great. Of course I went through the procedure all on my own with no one to help me after surgery, but you know what I got through the post-op with no problem. I healed up better than what I thought I would. Just follow your doctors instructions and advice and you will be happy with your decision to get banded. I wish you many blessings with this. Karmel
  4. Congratulations on getting banded June 6. You will do great. The process is simple and nothing too it. Just stay conscious of what you are doing especially when feeding your body and how you eat. I am not trying to have any PB or slips of the band. So far everything is going good for me and I get around like a champ. Hopefully I will be going zydeco dancing here real soon. =D> By the way, how are you liking the 10 day liquid protein diet? Karmel
  5. Carolen, The surgery was great, but then again everybody is different. Really all I have to say is that you are making a wise decision to do the lapband. Just trust in the man up above and you will be alright. I wish you many blessings with geting your approval and getting the surgery. If at anytime you have any questions about the process and procedure I will be more than glad to answer any questions for you. You can reach me at staci_cash1@yahoo.com if you like to talk to me further. Karmel
  6. It is good to hear that everyone who has gotten the lapband had someone there with them through out the surgery and recovery. As for me with me living in Philly all of my family and friends are back in TX. I had a co-worker drop me off at the hospital on May 22nd the day of my surgery before she went to work. So you see I was there with no support, but I knew I had the man upstairs by my side every step of the way. Was I scared? NO!!! > If anything I was calm as a rug. Hours after the procedure I was up moving and dancing around like I didn't even have surgery. Of course I was sore, but not to the extent to where I couldn't function. When I came home the next day I was wishing I had driven my own car because I was feeling great and was ready to get home. Heck I was giving myself a shower the very next day and making my bed. I know I know, but my pain level was cool or either I can take pain well . The bottom line is when I got home I was 100% totally on my own. No help from no one, but I am not complaining. Since my surgery I have lost 20 pounds and counting. Hopefully my twin sister in Houston will have the procedure here in the near future, but I do plan on being with here when she goes through it. Finally back at work, but FYI I had the surgery on Tuesday and was getting my nails done on Friday. I know I am a trip, but when I move back to Houston I will be slim, trim, and sexy...lol =D> I have one more week on my liquid diet, but today I broke down and had some refried beans no fat of course and low fat cheese. Ate very little and didn't have any problems so I am good, but I will be back with the liquids all day until next Wed. #-o I said the first thing I want is some lobster because at this moment I am having the worst craving for it. I wish you guys all the blessings and may God Bless us all on our journey to thinness and better health. Karmel
  7. Hey Judy, Go check out this website called www.drnutra.com and take a look at the program. Karmel
  8. Glen, I doubt it. Who is your insurance with? If you don't mind me asking. Karmel
  9. Judy, I know exactly what you are talking about, but what I did was I bought some Ducelax and crushed up 3 pills and mixed them with my water and swallowed them down. I had a smooth BM with no cramps. I needed to do that because the gas in my stomach was starting to make me feel sick. Once I start my transition on foods I will start my colonix program from Dr. Nutra for 90 Days to clean my system out. This will help me in my weight loss and flatten my tummy. =D>
  10. Hey Cheryl, I should have said that once I am over my 14 or 15 days of the liquid phase I will be eating my yogurt, refried beans and etc... =D> At the moment I make my proteing shakes with strawberries and fruit smoothies =D> . Every now and then I will have my chicken and beef broth. Well one more week of this stuff and then off to the beans with the low fat chees and low fat sour cream. Hey Cheryl has your doctor released you to start do some exercising yet? Karmel
  11. And here I thought is was me. Hello I am new to this site. I just had the lapband surgery on May 22nd and I am dying for something to eat. It doesn't help any when I see all these cooking shows making all these juicy meals. #-o Oh well, I will be ok with alot of prayer because some nights I just want to roll over and have me a good greasy burger, but I know that is not realistic...lol > It's has been 7 days since my surgery so next Tuesday will be my 2 week mark. Hopefully eating my yogurt, oatmeal, and refried beans all no fat of course will help with my hunger. All I need is some support from others who are going through the same thing as me so I won't break down and cry myself to sleep at night. Karmel =D>
