  1. Today is the 2nd day of eating solid foods, I have noticed that food just does not taste as wonderful as it used to before getting banded. Has anyone else found this to be true also? I mean it tastes okay and all but for example, I went to eat my favorite food of all time today sushi and it was good, but it was not like OMG this is great I want to die eating this and roll around in it heheheh like before. Does anyone understand what I am saying? Any feedback would be appricated. Thanks, Allan H San Diego, Ca
  2. I just got banded Wednesday Jan 11, 2006 been home since yesterday, feel SUPER bloated. I am being told that it is the swelling and that walking will make it go down. Went walking for about :30 min today and have been trying to walk as much as possible. But can't seem to get much down, I take make be one or two sips of Gaterade and thats it I am super full. Had 3 tablespoons of broth and that was it. Also feel VERY gassy, needed some advice do feel very swollen, how long has it take for others of you?? Thanks, for your help. Allan H San Diego, Ca
  3. I was just banded yestderday, it was much easier then I thought it was going to be, Dr Ortiz is just WONDERFUL!! Things went VERY smooth. Went it was all done I was a little sore but nothing really too bad. I stayed at the hospital one night, and since I am local here in San Diego I am now at home. I do have some gas pains. but I was told to expect that, I was however able to sleep on the non-portside on the same night as the surgery. I am now on the clear liquids, really not hungry, I had some clear broth, had about 4 spoonfuls and that was all I could get down. One hint don't watch food network, or to many TV commercials, they wil make you want food, but that is your head talking not your belly! =-) As far as being scared that is is in Mexico, there is nothing to fear, the hospital is GREAT! The staff ALL speak english your room is a private suite and it is all like you are in the US. I HIGHLY recommend it!! Allan Hincapie San Diego
