  1. Hi, I had my lap band surgery on April 4, 2006. Three days ago I start to feel a lot pain. Everything solid that I tried to eat, I end up vomiting. Today I went to the emergency room and they told me that my band slipped. Now the band is located where the esofhagus and the stomach meets. They want to remove. I'm on a liquid diet until the surgery. Sincerely, I don't want to remove the band. There is any other option? Can the band be reposition back to it's place? I don't have the money to pay for another surgery, and because my BMI is 32, I don't qualify for gastric bypass, so the band was my only hope for weight loss. I feel like they will take from me my only chance to get to my goal weight. Please, I need a reply ASAP. They will be calling me very soon to schedulle the surgery to remove the band. Thank you very much.
  2. Thank you for all the advices. It realy help moticate myself to keep trying. About the vomiting, yes, I'm forcing myself to vomit because I want to eat more, and with the band I can't. I already see a therapist, and she is trying to help me, but I'm still unable to stop. The first thing I will try to do is stop drinking during meal. I notice that when I drink with meal, makes it easier for me to vomit. Only solids is much harder. Maybe this is help me control the vomiting. I'll go one step at time. This is my goal for now. After I achieve this goal, I can jump to the next. I'll keep posting to update in how I'm doing. Thank you very much for all the support.
  3. Hi... I had my surgery last April and I'm glad I did. The fact is that I'm still not able to loose weight and keep it off. I had three fills already. My last fill went up to 3.4cc, when 4.0 is the max, so I'm close there. I still can't deal with the emotional eating and I'm unable to eat without having at least water to drink because the food will not go down past my throat. Sometimes I'm unable to eat anything, and sometimes I'm able to eat a full meal (3 slices of pizza) or more. Vomiting is a daily part of my life now. I feel guilt that I spend all this money having the surgery that is suppose to help me achieve my goal of weight loss but because I'm unable to follow the post-op instructions I'm failing. My primary care doctor say I have develop bulimia. The bulimia is causing esophageal spasm that is extremelly painful. My weight goes up and down because I can't keep myself away from high-calories food. I'm just confuse, lost, without knowing where to look for help. I don't want to scared anybody away, please. The surgery is great if you are able to follow the post-op care. I was hoping to get a feedback from somebody that went through the same thing I'm going through and was able to bounce back. I hope I can find help here.... This is a cry for help.
