I've been feeling so great and energetic and then just 4 hours into my day today I started having really really bad shoulder pain (the worst yet) and horrible gas pains all over my abdomen. I'm on day 12 post op and was really surprised that I didn't feel much better being that it has been almost 2 weeks.

I'm a nurse (though work in management) and I guess I'm on my feet more that I though. Ugghhhh.......I hope tomorrow is better.

Anyone else experience this when going back to work or changing routine?

I couldn't sit for long periods of time for about 3 weeks after surgery--it felt that I kept getting gas trapped in my stomach/chest and it hurt! It does go away though...

Hey Cindy.. I remember it was tough for me going back to work 4 days after surgery. I stand all day and I definitely felt discomfort.. It took a good couple weeks to feel more "normal" at work. The discomfort didn't prevent me from doing my job and I would have felt the discomfort even if I was home sitting on my behind.

I promise it gets better. Hang in there!

My first week back was rough. The first day was horrible. I had shoulder pains and was just overall sore. I was so slow, i was not doing anything or going anywhere fast at all, i felt usless and was very frustrated but like mlgpdx said, it does get better (it just seems like the end of the world at the time)!
