Had surgery today

Recommended Posts

My mom and I arrived in San Diego last night at 12:30am. Got to the OCC at 7:30am

There were 9 surgeries today...mom was #8 I, of course, was last.....long day!

No pain, only gas discomfort.

This staff is amazing, they all have a very good sense of humor....we had lots of laughs while waiting our turn.

We are looking forward to a sleeping pill at 9pm, for a good nights sleep.

The hotel Lucerna is very nice, and OCC is so clean!

Anne, Make sure you pack warm clothes.....it was down to 59 today.

Best to all of you!

Cindy

My husband and I did not enjoy Revoulution Ave at all, they were extremely pushy and nothing I wanted to spend my money on, just junk. A couple of the stores I would have liked to go into, the guys were so overwhelmingly pushy that it wasn't worth my time, we grabbed a cab and went back to the hotel. We also went to the mall just down the street, it is an outside mall with a movie theatre and regular shops like a Sears and it has a grocery store also. I had heard there was somewhere else to shop that was good also, but I can't remember the name, sorry.

My son and I felt the same way. I felt so uncomfortable, One guy waited for us outside a restaurant thinking my son should buy some brass knuckles!

He chased us down the street. We couldn't leave soon enough. I guess It's not everyones cup of tea. Glad I went just to see, but I will never go back!

That reminds me of a time I was in Algadones (I think) across the border from Yuma anyways and there was these 2 young gentlemen outside of a pharmacy trying to solicit my Dad to go inside. They were telling him that they had Viagra and it was better than Wal mart. Ha Ha... cracked me up. You just gotta ignore them and keep walking kinda like the stripper card pushers in Vegas.

I was approached buy a supposed pharmacists and asked if I would like to buy Vicoden or Morphine....I was a little tempted with all the gas pain...hahaha....

We got a cab and left right then. On a normal day I probably could have dealt with it but I was a little cranky the day after surgery and not up to the harassment.

One guy insisted I buy some jewelry from him. When I said NO, he told me I needed to get out of Tijuana and go to K-Mart. I decided then that I had had enough of Revolution Ave. NEVER AGAIN!

The open air mall is fairly nice, a lot of shoe stores. I bought 9 pairs. We had them in our carry-on and they couldn't scan it properly, so security searched my bag.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one that really didn't enjoy Revolution Ave!! I was sore and crabby and they were sooo pushy! This guy kept trying to get me to buy sunglasses and I finally just had to look at him and tell him all his sunglasses were ugly! :) I felt bad, but he finally left me alone. We didn't stay long and ended up headed back to the hotel. The other mall sounds like it might have been OK, but it sounds like I was in more pain than most people.

I think the reason why we did so well there is because we had someone who spoke spanish with us. It was easy to tell someone off. We had a good time, but we didnt stay a real long time. I guess the whole thing was interesting to me. I had never seen anything like that before. As you can tell I am not well traveled. I just laughed at the pushy ones. We only went into the stores where there was no one out there grabing at us. This one guy tried to get me to buy his purses and I laughed at him cause he tried to tell me it was a REAL Coach, like I wouldnt know. HA!
