  1. Well here goes........GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL. In my experience, the fills are EVERYTHING with the band. Yes, and do let us know how it goes, and how you become full with very little.

    Hi Teri!

Well my fill went well. I am now at 6 cc's. I am feeling restriction..and I am amazed at how little I eat and get full.

I am excited that I have restriction and hope that it sticks around for a while. I cannot wait for the weight to start

    coming off. ><'

  2. Thanks for sharing your story. I am going to Tijuana this weekend for my second fill. I am like you, can eat basically anything.

I have the VG band, so my fist fill was 4.6cc's. I felt restriction for the first couple of days, but it slowly went away with each day.

I can't wait to see if I still have the 4.6 in my band. Also to see how much of a fill I will be getting.

    Wish me luck!

I will let you know how it goes.

  3. I had my surgery on the 29th of September. I pushed my fill date out so I could enjoy Thanksgiving.

As far as restriction goes.....I really don't have any at all. This is going to be my first fill...so I am hoping that they will give me a nice healthy fill, like Tombourn got.

I did notice that occasionally in the evening I feel some restriction, but not a whole lot.

Look forward to meeting you and exchanging stories.

I haven't weighed my self in about 3 weeks. I am going to weigh myself this week though and

    see where I am at.

Let us know how you do on your weigh-in. I am eager for a healthy fill also. Not getting any real sensation of limitation but I recognize this is ordinary for the VG. Look forward to meeting you also and comparing notes. Just one week to go. See you soon! Happy Thanksgiving! Kevin

    Hi Kevin!

It was nice meeting you and your Mom on Monday. You were gone when I came out from getting my fill. I ask your mom to say bye for me and let you know how much of a fill I got.

I got 4.8 cc's tomorrow I will find out if I have any restriction at all.

I think I will because I have to drink my Slimfast shakes slower then normal.

How did your fill go, how much did you get??

Also, did the pink drink mess with your tummy?

It really messed up mine for a day or two.

  4. Lapoli, Yes you will run into me there as I am on the table right after you at 11AM. Would love to exchange notes on restriction and how much of a fill we each receive. When did you have your surgery?

Look forward to meeting you and exchanging info.

Boy am I looking forward to restriction as I have none and this is my first fill. How about you is this your first? Any restriction?

Have a filling Thanksgiving because Monday we get squeezed. Kevin

  5. I was banded August of 2004, I am down 120 lbs. I have had a tummy tuck, breast lift/aug, butt lift and arm lift down in Mexico with outstanding results. The tummy tuck alone brought me from a size 10 to a size 6- not bad when my preband size was 22. I feel like a new person and would highly recommend the plastic surgeon. Email me if you want his info at jessesp9@comcast.net

    fellow bandster, Jess

Out of curiosity, what was the cost for all the work you had done?? Also, did you have it all done the same day or in seperate surgerys?

Lapoli, I was still at the clinic whenI saw you post op up and walking around just a very short while after surgery... goood for you.

Hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to hearing from you all.

    Peggy form Florida...

Yeah, Dr. Ortiz seemed pretty shocked to see me up and walking around  .

He actually gave me a hug  and told me "I just finished your surgery" and was

very happy to see the effort.

Walking definatly helped with the gas. and that's all I could think about.

I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow...I think I've lost around 10lbs, but won't know

    for sure til' tomorrow.

    Hope your doing great!!

  7. I just had my suregry on the 29th of September.

I think my BMI is 56.4 and I can tell you that my recovery time was really well.

I was up and walking around quicker then the some of the patients. I was the heaviest one there

    I think.

The pain isn't bad, unless you focus on it. I think that you will do fine, as long as you follow all of Dr. Miranda's pre-op guidelines.

I went to Costco on Saturday, the day after surgery. Went home Sunday and I dropped my daughter off

at school this morning. I will return to work tomorrow.

    Good luck to you!

  8. Well it's close to my turn also. I will be leaving my home on the 28th. Driving down with my husband and my Mom.

I am getting really nervous now and I feel almost sick to my stomach. I packed my bag last night, I am trying to plan everything just right so my household can run without me there. All you Mom's know just what I mean....

I'll write you guys from the OCC.

  9. You can do 7 pounds by 29th in your sllep.. have faith... Adkins makes a protien shake.. I'm sure it is low in carbs...Relax take the stress off....I stress it too...but lost the last 6 in the last three days...

    Tom

    Tom

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Atkins does make a protien shake, but they taste REALLY BAD...

Did you lose the last 6lbs doing the liquid diet Dr. Miranda gives??

I keep telling myself that I can do this, I am going to relax about it....just like you said.

That will make things alot better

I'll update everyone on Friday on where my weight is....

  10. I am getting banded on the 29th. I am worried that I will not lose enough to have my surgery.

I need to lose 7 more pounds by the 29th.

I am scared that placing me on the pre-op diet will make me gain weight.

I am doing Atkins now...can anyone recommend a good protien shake low in carbs?

I know that many of you probably had similar concerns, so I am hoping that you will be able to help me out.

I go weigh myself on Fridays to see if I have any additional weight loss. I weigh myself once a week at Kaiser in there Bariatric Area since they don't sell scales that go as high as my weight.

Any advise is good advise.......unless you tell me to jump off a bridge

    Thanks in advance!

  11. Well I just sent over my paperwork and have my surgery scheduled for the 29th of September!

I am so excited, not nervous yet. I don't think that I will be nervous until the day before surgery.

The thought of having this added tool to help me lose the weight makes my heart soar..

I am looking forward to talking here in the forum and filling everyone in on my experience.

So far everyone has been very prompt with communicating and any questions I've had.
