  1. I will be having my first fill January 19th @ OCC. I am very excited to move forward after the surgery. I have noticed that some comments about the "Fill Doctor/s" are always the best. Can we recommend who does our fills? I would hate to not have it done properly and have to fly back down to have it re-done. Any thoughts?

Hi. How did your 1st fill go on the 19th and who did it? Are you happy with it? Thanks so much for any input & Good Luck

  2. Hi Newly Banded Lapsters,

Do you feel an immediate restriction? Will the weightloss be accelerated once the first fill is done? I am scheduled for March 3, I can't wait. I have lost a few pounds in pre op dieting getting the liver shrunk. It is nice to have the motovation to get to the gym. I am amazed at thow sensitive I am to sodium. Do you take any supliments?

    All the best =D>

    Candace

    Hi Candace,

Everyone is different but the 1st week your stomach is swollen and I do not feel hungry. I hear after the swelling goes down starting in week 2-3 you do get hungry but have to stay on liquids (creamy soup, protien shakes...) until week 4. I am taking children's chewable with iron now. Good Luck!

  3. Thanks for the pep-talk Rita!! It helps to have others around you to support the process! I am actually going through this along with my husband. He is scheduled for Feb. 5. We think the team work will help alot. I am concerned about the gas pains after surgery. Did you have any issues with that?

    K

    Hi K,

I think that is great you and your husband are doing it together. My husband doesn't have a weight issue and I have been cooking for him this week. It hasn't been hard yet because I only had surgery 6 days ago and am not hungry at all. But once I start getting hungry and still on liquids he'll have to fend for himself...lol  As far as the gas bring GasX strips. They help. Good Luck to you both!

  4. Hi Rita I'm new here and you are the first person I have relpied to. I noticed our starting weights are the same and I am scheduled to be banded on Jan 29. Good loss for you so far!!!! Lets hope I'm as lucky!!!

    Hi K

The pre-op diet helped and now 6 days on liquid (easy you are Not hungry after surgery). Good Luck with your surgery and I'm sure you will do great! I know if I can do it anyone can....I loved food

  5. I was banded in March '07. I have been up and down and not really been able to truly focus. Before Thanksgiving I had lost about 50 lbs..since then I have put back on 20 lbs. I need support. I live in Orlando and am looking for a fellow Florida bandster that I can talk to and get support from. I am a working mother of 3 kids and struggle everday with my weight. I have true food obsession and have learned to eat around my band. At this point have have another 60lbs to go to reach my goal and as of today I am questioning if I will ever be able to make it. I have the support of my husband but no one else in my life knows that I got the band. Please let me know if anyone else can relate and is looking to have someone they can talk to and lend support to.

Hi Lookin! I am in Bradenton, Fl and was also banded Monday 1-14-08. Please feel free to email me canndo2003@yahoo.com. We can help each other!

    Hi JC

    Thanks for your help :)

  7. Hi all. I like the pickle idea also. I didn't want to eat broccoli because that may cause gas before surgery :P but I am 3 days on on pre-op diet and it is going better than I expected. I have stopped all carbonated drinks. I am having 3 slimfasts a day and add a soup progresso light 60 cal. for 1 cup and drinking lots of water. So far I have lost 4 lbs as of this morning. I needed o lose 10-12 so I am 1/3 there =D> ! Thanks for all the great ideas. Good luck to all having surgery.

  8. Well I started my pre-op diet yesteday and :(( it was a little hard but I got through it!! =D> I did have to go to bed at

9:00 PM so I would quickly have 1 day under my belt. Since I only have 9 days to lose 10 lbs I thought I'd try Diet 1 which is the

protien shakes for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. I was told I could add vegtable soup with that and I did. I only consumed 710 cal. I didn't buy any of the pills they suggested but Christopher thanks for the recommendation on the fiber pills ...I will purchase :-h . Hope everyone has a great day and Good Luck to all!
