Just don't count on getting into surgery if you haven't lost the required weight. We postpone a lot of surgeries too! It depends on your BMI and where you carry the weight, sometimes they will let you go in if you haven't reached the 5% but more often... nope and then you have to either reschedule and come back or stay in Mexico for a week (at your expense) and be strict with the diet. So follow orders!

My bmi is between a 30 and 31 preop. How much weight will I be told to lose. I have no longer been able to lose weight on my own that is why I want the surgery. What does the preop diet consist of and for how long would I have to be on it?

I am new and want to know how much weight have people lost after being banded. What is your starting weight, current weight and goal weight? Are their any people that have been able to get to their goal weight after being banded and are now maintaining (and for how long).

I am new to this, not yet banded because I am afraid I will not be able to find a proper fill doctor. Does anyone know of any fill doctors in North Carolina, preferably the Raleigh-Durham area? Let me know of your experiences and the best places to be filled.
