Hugs to you. First of all, let me congratulate you on your weight loss and if I've read correctly you've been able to keep your weight off since July. I think that's half the battle. I haven't been banded "yet" but your surgery date was a significant date for me. On that day I weighed 212 (same as you). Today I don't even want to talk about it. lol

I started at 294 on 3/12/07, dieted on my own and hit 212 a year and a half later. When I hit that number I lost my motivation, I know why but it's a long story.

To shorten another long story, I was fitted for a bridesmaid dress as 212. When it came time for the wedding (a month ago) it had to be taken out 4 inches on each side.

    Yikes.

I'm pretty confident I'm up to about 260 right now. My pre op starts soon and I haven't been in Onderland since 1996. I did get to 200.2 in 2002 but as I wrote, 5 years later I was at 294.

I know what it's like to feel like that number won't come fast enough. Hang in there and consider the stabilization in your weight a victory.

I think once you accept where you are as success, you'll be motivated to incorporate a few things to help the scale move. I do believe that "stress" can stop a scale from moving or worse yet, cause the body to gain weight. I don't think there is documented proof, but I was a professional weight loss consultant and I've seen it.

Hang in there and take a deep breath. Make your goal 189 and focus on a 10 lb loss rather than a 1 or 2 lb loss. That will help change your thinking. Trust me.

    xo

Thanks so much I do tend to forget that losing and keeping 21 pounds off is an accomplishment it just seems like am bad cause I can't get past that point. I need to stop punishing myself and be proud of what I have done so far and keep focused on continued wieght loss.

  2. Robynn that was a GREAT Post and Cindy GREAT idea. I too have been "fighting" to get down to 199. OMGoodness Im not sure if I was this in High shcool, maybe evenn JR High. I am at 213 and have been stuck around 213-216 for about three weeks and it is SO frustrating! I have tried not to let it bother me and just keep doing what I am doing. This week I have started to up my water intake (this has always been an issue for me) and up my protein intake as well. I spoke to GNC and they gave me some good info on the protien issue. I am goning to try to increase this for one week and see how it goes. I have been afraid of getting "too much" protein, however they state unless it is over 150 grams a day not to worry bout it. This to me still seems very high, but I am going to give it a shot. I am not however going to take that much protein, but I am going to up it for a week.

Maybe we all could agree upon a weigh in day to report back to this thread and post some ideas of things we did different from week to week.

    Good Luck everyone!

    Carrie

That sounds good I am also gonna try my best to drink mostly water instead of mostly other things like pop. I am also trying the increase in protien and I just started the Slimin6 exercise program today. Good luck girls, we can do it.

  3. I seem to be at the weight that my body prefers. I was this weight after my first child and my second. I can manage to get to 199 or even 198 but then the next day or so I am back at 200 or 201. I know that I have to drink more water and to exercise. I got another fill a couple months ago thinking might jump start me but no such luck. I have started exercising but I don't how often I should be to see weight lose. If I don't get enough protien could that be a problem. I have not been drinking protien shakes lately. Any other tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  4. I have scheduled my first fill for Aug 22nd. I am very excited for the next step in the lapband process. I have been lossing weight but it has been kind of slow. I still can eat a good amount but no where near what I ate pre surg and not as often. Any suggestions or tips or just what I might experience with my first fill?

  5. Water is your best friend, not only is it the perfect beverage for your body but while I was in the preop phase if I started to get hungry and it wasn't time for a shake yet I drank a bunch of water and it helped curb my hunger for a little while. I don't know about anyone else but if I don't drink enough water I don't loose. My body needs the water to flush everything out and keep me from retaining water. Good Luck and hang in there. :D

  6. Hi everyone

    Food:

I got banded July 8th and am on day 4 of the diet. I was thinking about trying campbell's tomatoe soup made with water? Could you please give me some ideas to try for the next few days?

    Pain:

I still have muscle pain up in my right shoulder, I think it might be from gas? I have tried a few gas-x pills but they dont seem to work very good! any suggestions, hot tea, coffee, etc work?

    Fitness:

I went outside and walked at the park with the family today, it felt good to be outside walking...I recommend everyone do this ;)

I know this is going to be the best life change I have ever done for myself.

    Amy

  7. Congrats and welcome! Are you being banded at the OCC? Best wishes on your surgery and let us know how you are, Darlene

Yes at OCC. I am home now and starting to feel better. Did not feel too great the first few days but It will be worth it in the end. I feel like scarfing a whole pizza about now but that is just a thought.
