  1. Okay... I have had the "full" feeling of satiety after eating an order of refried beans, but that's not what I get when I talk about the pain. It's like it's stuck under my sternum. For example, I haven't eaten anything today yet and I just tried to eat canned tuna with light mayo AND mustard (to make it as wet as possible) and after two tiny bites, stuck. Ouch...how can something so tiny stick??? RRRRR...yet for dinner last night I was able to eat a whole filet of fish from McDonald's with only a tiny bit of pain. I don't wanna get unfilled if I can eat at night, but I can't seem to get ANYTHING except liquids down during the day. And I can't continue to workout and lift weights without nourishment. I'm sick of protein shakes. (And they make me gassy)... RRRRRR

This is sooo frustrating. On the other hand, I get on the scale tomorrow (I'm only trying to weigh once a week) and it BETTER have gone down :D

  2. Hey ladies,

I had my second fill last Saturday. First fill was 2 ccs, second fill was 1.2 so I have a total of 3.2 I did liquids for a day and mushies for a day. Then my family made grilled pizzas (my fave) Put toppings on a tortilla and grill. I ate only the toppings and ate about 1/4 and they went down fine. I'm really tight in the morning. Then the next day for dinner I had a small piece of cantaloupe (and I'm a good chewer) and I guess it got stuck cuz when we got ready to eat, I couldn't eat a thing and it hurt and I ate one bite of ground beef with mayo and two or three bites of beans and had to go PB several times. Did liquids another day. The next day I did shakes for breakfast and lunch and Mexican for dinner. Had about 5 chips, an order of refried beans and about 1/4 of a tamale and was pleasantly full. No pain. Today for lunch we went to chinese and I had a couple bites of egg drop soup, the insides of a pot sticker and A green bean very slowly and well chewed and had to go PB again.

She told me the fill was a good one, but I thought I was ok since my first real meal went fine. I'm trying to decide if I just can't tell when I'm full (even tho my PBs are usually accompanied with lots of pain), if I'm eating the wrong foods (I don't think I am..no bread or rice or flour tortillas) or if I need a small unfill. I don't want to halt my weight-loss because I saw zero weightloss after fill #1, but I also don't want to have slip.

    Suggestions?

  3. Hey all,

I was wondering if any of you take any liquid vitamins and or supplements and if so, what kind and from where do they come?

More specifically, I'm looking for calcium and glucosamine. I just had my second fill on Saturday and she filled me to 3.2 ccs. I think it's a good amount and I'm getting in plenty of food I'm sure. I am just really weak. I'm eating plenty of protein and drinking a ton of water. I have to get better about taking my liquid centrum (GAG!!)

Thanks for the wealth of knowledge I gain here.

  4. GaGirl77 is that you Jamie??? The belly ring gave it away! lol... I remember when I got my ring in several years ago it ook a week and a half for the soreness to go away.... Hang in there. :-) Maybe should've done the shots they were offering beforehand huh? Anyways, AWESOME job about your weight loss!! I'm dying for Sunday to come because that is when we can add creamy soup in!!! Someone suggested getting the soup I love and just put it through the blender until it's completely liquid.... Anything other than broth is exciting now. lol

Yep, it's me... Oops. My paperwork said 7 days add creamy soup. I added it today. Just got back from lunch. Had potato soup at Rafferty's and didn't eat the soup. maybe I did it too soon? But I feel sooo much better. I did take a tylenol this morning (cut it in half) and I felt like it was stuck all morning... ick.

  5. Yay!! Jessi, you go girl.

I was banded last Thursday and lost 12 pounds. I know it's gonna slow so I'm trying not to be disappointed when it does. How was your trip home? My belly button ring is a little sore :) and I've done way too much so my port site still hurts, too. But I'll take the 12 pound loss in exchange for sure!!!! Are ya'll still thinking about going back for a fill?

  6. I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM JESSI...BUT HAVE NOT CHECKED EMAIL, YET!! GIRL I'M SO HUNGRY...AND DON'T NO HOW I WILL MAKE 21 DAYS!! KIDS WANTED RED LOBSTER TONIGHT, SO ALL I HAD WAS MY PROTIEN WATER, BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T SALE CLEAR BROTH!! WHAT ABOUT YOU....HUNGRY, YET?

    LENA23

    Hey girl,

I felt a little hungry yesterday. I'm having morning coffee and looking at my first yogurt drink and I really don't want it. My tummy has been talking to me non-stop. Krystals has YUMMY slushies and I had about 1/2 one yesterday and then I got so much energy I think I messed up. I went out and trimmed my bushes and raked my yard. I gotta get this house sold cuz my hubby is moving out very soon and I can't afford it :( I just hope I didn't mess anything up. How bout I sat by the sweetest little boy on the plane ride home who was travelling alone and his dad bought him two McD's cheeseburgers and fries for the trip.... they smelled so freakin good. I think things smell better than they would taste. Do you know what I mean? Like I would wanna chew on them and spit them out... ha ha.

    How's your pain?

  7. Hey Lena (my bellybutton sista!)

It was nice to be back in my own bed. I slept well for the first time in a long time. Catchin up on the laundry right now. I'm still poppin my phayzyme, too ;) I can't wait to see ya again either? I still have that "stitch" sorta pain to the left of my port and my burps keep getting stuck and it HURTS. Have you talked to Jessie? I wonder what the dr said when they went back to the clinic. Can't wait to see you again ;)

HI...JAMIE, HOW WAS YOUR 1ST NIGHT BACK? I'M GOOD BUT STOMACH KEEPS GROWLNG...NO PAIN THO....GAS-X IS MY BEST FRIEND. MISS THE SHOPPING!! :(( HOPE YOU'RE WELL AND CAN'T WAIT FOR OUR FILL TRIP BACK!! =D>
  8. I am I am I am... I'm being banded on the 22nd, too. I'm SOOOO nervous and soon-to-be ex-husband and I are arguing and I'm sooo scared of going alone. I leave tomorrow evening to fly to San Diego. Wooo Hooo...I'll see ya there. Do you know which hotel you'll be at yet? I requested the Lucerna but Caroline said she can't promise anything yet.

  9. I'm being banded May 22 and I'm going through the same thing. One second, I'm soooo excited. The next I'm so worried wondering if I'm doing the right thing.

My g'ma called the other day and asked how long she had to talk me out of it. My aunt went to Mexico a few years ago and nearly died of food poisoning so my g'ma can't imagine how surgery there can be sterile. I told her not to worry, I had done EXTENSIVE research and until she did her own research to prove mine wrong, just be happy for me. Besides, I told her, when I'm skinny, we'll have to go shopping. That shut her up. She's a total shopaholic :P

When are you girls starting the preop diet?

  10. I am scheduled for sure for May 21st surgery.. My tummy is freaking out from nerves.. It's the OMG am i really gonna do this feeling.. I am so excited!!!! =D> ><' Opps also I can't change my siognature and stuff today, so please disregard..

Red, are you going to the OCC? I'm coming in on May 21 and surgery on May 22.

  11. I know what you mean. It sorta stinks. Food addiction. On one hand, I'm glad this is my addiction. I come from a long line of alcoholics and drug addicts, and so far, praise God, food seems to be my only one. On the other hand, alcoholics can totally stay away from alcohol, drug addicts from drugs, but we must look at our addiction and consume it every day just to sustain life.

What to do? My grandma has been through every kind of diet, treatment program.. everything and she can't beat her food addiction. And I know that even after I have the surgery I'll have to use restraint because the addiction is still there.

    No fair

  12. I'm so glad you went ahead and had that done!

You know I once asked my gyn doc what on earth made him pick gyn as his specialty. He said it was the money that made him do it! hahahah At least he is honest!

I'm from GA too, as some of you know. I'm from the Atlanta area. I'm being banded on May 8. that's 3 weeks from today!!

    jena

It's too bad I didn't meet up with any of the other GA girls sooner and we could have scheduled our flights and surgeries together. We'll definitly have to meet up for fills or shopping trips :)

  13. Good morning gals (and guys),

I had my surgery to remove my ovarian cyst yesterday. The dr. said to use this as a gauge as far as time off for my band next month. It's crazy. The worst part is the incisions and the sore throat. I had a partial hysterectomy a few years ago, but it was done vaginally. Anyway, I feel pretty good and could probably be at work today already if the stinking incisions didn't hurt so bad. I'm already doing laundry... not lifting just scooting the basket with my feet. My incisions are much larger than I anticipate them being from the band, though. I have THREE that are about 2 inches long and one in my belly button... what the heck? My gyn is a cutie pie and single, but come on, couldn't he have made smaller holes? I guess I'm just lucky to keep getting fine doctors. He's quite a catch so I'm not sure why he's still single. Could be because a lot of women don't want their man looking at other women's coochies all day :P

Anyway, not sure why I'm rambling on. Could be because I'm bored and will be stuck at home for a WEEK!!!!! RRRRRRR

BUT, I'm very excited about becomming a bandster now and looking forward to a better quality of life :)
