Sally I know how you feel. I had to have my band removed in April I had only had it for 8 months. Thank God I got another loan to have another one put back on. I am going to try and go next month, but if they don't have any space left I do have an appointment already for November 16th. I just don't want to wait any longer. Hang in don't give up and if you plan on getting another band just let that keep you going.

Hi Sally,
Tell us your fears so we can be more specific with our encouragement - but try not to worry - you are in good hands with dr. Ortiz. Also, try not to go crazy with food (I know easier said than done BUT if you stick to the bandster way of eating - once you are rebanded - things will be easier for you.
Take care and good luck, mary
my fears are eating, eating and eating some more before 6 months...

hi,
i talked with dr. ortiz today and he said that i need to wait for 6 months to be rebanded.
he said with a slip, 99% develope hernias which need to be repaired also.
so i had my band removed aug. 1st and i will not have a band for 6 months.
yikes
i am really frightened.

Just out of curiosity, why couldn't they reband you when they went in to remove the old one?

my surgeon said that i had to rest my tummy at least 2/3 months.
dr. ortiz's office just called and said i had to wait 6 months.
i am waiting for a consultation call from him today...
thanks,

hi,
i am new to this board.
i had my lap band removed 12 days ago, as it slipped.
i definitely want a new one.
my lap band surgery was 10/10/05.
it was tight the entire time.
i may need a VG this time.
i am researching dr. ortiz and dr. rumbaut in mexico. these are the two that i preferred before my banding in oct.
at the last minute my insurance co. approved my surgery and i had in done here in the u.s.
i was very hesitant as the surgeon here did not have the experience.
so i am back to square "A" and want to start over with the doctors i initially chose.
"live and learn"....
has anyone been rebanded by either of these surgeons?
thanks,
lexi

hi everyone,
i just read a post that stated that a bandster was given the VG band as most of her weight was in her tummy.
i had the 10.75 (4cc) capacity band placed last oct. and i was always tight.
my band slipped this month and was taken out.
all of my weight was and is in my tummy.
do you think i needed the bigger VG band?
i want to be rebanded and i want to get it right...
much thanks ahead,
lexi
