  1. Hi everyone. As some of you know, I had plastic surgery yesterday in Mexico with Dr. Jamie Campos Leon. Everything went very well to say the least. He and his staff are very amazing and wanted the very best for me. I arrived a little before 8am, filled out paper work and then had another consultation with him. During that time, we went over a few other areas he and I had concerns about and decided to also get liposuction on them. He didn't even charge me for these extra areas. I ended up having my upper and lower back, inner arms, inner thighs, waste, hips and lower abdomen liposuction-ed. The price was very reasonable. I had the choice of what kind of anesthesia I wanted and decided to just be sedated. it seemed like what took for ever to be sedated. I guess my spine was just not being easy for them. I was awake in and out of surgery, felt a little bit of it, but there was no pain involved. He first started on the top of my body by inserting some liquid, then did the normal liposuction and finally finished with laser liposuction which tightens up the skin. All in all my surgery took about 3 to 31/2 hours. I did not feel any pain but I bled so much. I am still bleeding a lot, but the doctor stressed that this would be normal. It is not all blood that I am losing, but the liquid he also injected into me. He prescribed pain medicine, antibiotics and iron because of my blood loss. It has been 24 hours since I arrived back home (I live less than 45 minutes away from Mexico) and I am very swollen around my waste. I went from having a close to flat tummy to looking like I have an inner-tube around my belly and bottom. I forgot to add that the Dr. did some fat grafting and add 700ccs to my booty lol. I am unable to sit on my bottom and must lay on my side or stomach so the shape does not change on my bottom. Dr. Campos Leon said that he removed about 7000 ccs which equals about 14 lbs off of my body. This 14 lbs will not show up right away because it also includes water weight. He said that I should lose all of the weight within 3 months. I have to wear a girdle that goes under my breasts and is above my knees. I also wear another one which is like a short tight cardigan that goes over my upper back and arms. Dr. says that I must wear these for a month and am able to start exercising in 2 weeks. So far, even with the bleeding, swelling and bruises, this has been a fantastic experience. Today is day 2 and I do not even have an appetite, I had tomato soup and cheese its last night and the same today so far along with a lot of crystal light. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions. I took before pics that I first sent to the Dr. and I will take some in about 2 weeks as well. I am going for my one week check up next Tuesday and will keep you all posted. Thanks for listening!!

I am so glad You loved Dr. Campos. I love the work He did on me also. It does a world of difference dont you think....

  2. Hello everyone!

I wanted to stop in to say hello and see how everyone was doing. This time of year gets really busy for me at work and we also just went to a new computer system so it has been horrid the last couple of months at work.

I just got my first fill yesterday from PS surgery, was without a fill for right at 3 months. I did not gain, but did not lose either. Soooo I still am sitting at 181. sad.gif . These 180's have been HELLO for me.ugghhhhh SOoooo ready to get out of them. Shelby you keep telling me I will but I am REALLY starting to worry...lol I am x-ing my fingers this fill will kick start something...lol He was going to start me back around 1.50 but only put in 1.20. I was on liquids yesterday and I will stay on them through today. I am doing great since my PS and I have my final appt on the 24th of this month. I will be able to take my after photos, looking forward to that. Everything has healed pretty good, there is one place right beside my belly button to the left about 4" long that we have been watching from get go that we think may be holding fluid, that they may drain when I go back, just kinda puffy, is not laying flat like the oppsite side is. Girls are doing great, cant wait to get in a bra! Wow did I just say that....lol

Everyone looks great! There is alot of new people that I am sorry I have not gotten the privileage to speak with, Angie work your magic girl! wink.gif

Debbie, Im sure you are getting so excited!

Everyone else keep up the hard work, it will pay off in the long run!

Carrie Im glad to hear everything went well for you. I had the same thing with one side been puffy. It went down after a couple of months. I am trying to plan a trip to San Diego to go see my surgen again and to also get my band check. As I also can not get out of these 180s.

  3. I am In the same 5lb boat. Up 5 down 5. This week tho I had the biggest scare when I went from my routine 182-185 to 192, OMG I about died, With me it also bad eating habbits. And I know what I have to do because Im right back down to 183 this week. So with that in mind Im going to give myself a swift kick in the ass and start using the band in the way I know how to use it. Heres hoping to get to goal by my birthday in July........

  4. Do I have this down, yah - the truth is I do. And what does that tell me - if I can do it - anyone can. I sucked at every diet out there - was obese so long that it was scary and I was close to 300. I had an opertunaty that allowed me to learn with one of the best Doctors out there. (Dr Andrew Weil) And I took classed to help me learn how to live healthier (I have 18 years on you - so its harder for us older gals)

I agree, the lunchables are loaded with chemicals, I stay away from things that are processed. Ground turkey is good, I would also soak things in broth. I would cook chicken (dark pieces) in chicken broth (leave the skin on to keep it moiste) throw in the herbs, spices and veggies and freeze sandwich bags of portions to take to work. I'd cook beef and soak it in broth. You can make meat soft and moist this way.

I don't eat any fat free food, I eat small portions and need the fat - good fat though. I cook in oil oil and always go slow and chew the dickens out of your food - stop when you feel that tight feeling and it may be fast - learn what your stopping points are by really listening to your body. Thats why you have to measure - I've taken many a lap band girl out to lunch and when we measure and really look at what we should be eating they are often surprised - you can force food in your pouch - but it defeats the purpose.

Fish is always good, steamed its moist and soft for us - with garlic and lemon, its a no brainer. Trador Joes if you have one should be your new best friend. They have great food thats good for you at good prices. (the frozed food section is awsome) Really cut your food up in small portions, think of chop salad, and small bites.

Smoked salmon, high protein and with red onions, cream cheese, lemon and little toasted rye breaks - you have a great lunch. Its hard to learn how to eat meat - but we need to do it, and its doable for most of us.

One cheap exercise tip - get one of those big balls and start by sitting on it - just sitting on the thing builds your core - I did it for 3 years. It really helped to slowly build your way to more exercise.

Its doable for you - give it a go!

Lisa Thanks for these great tips. I have been at a plateu for 7 months and I now know that its on me to do something about it. The days that I have been doing my exercises I was ok and once I stopped It all started to gain up on me again. I have also need to start chewing better and portion control. Again thanks.

  5. WTG Mindy, I am so happy for youre progress. My email is shrty83524@gmail.com I would love to see youre before and after pictures. I have been at a plateau for 7 months now. I can go from 180 to 189 and back down. I just recently started to run 3 miles on my stationary bike and walk 1 mile on my treadmill a day. I am so hoping for some results now. Thanks for sharing. Let us know what they tell you on the band.

  6. I had the extended tummy tuck and it only helps the outter thighs. I also have a lot of excess in my inner thighs so I have to get it done. I have a new belly buttom and my scar almost foes around my whole body, I believe that I only have 2 inches that they didnt cut. I am happy with the work that my dr did, as i have curves now and not that spare tire that use to be around my stomach.

  7. I can eat just about anything also. Bread is my enemy. I love the turkey meatball idea I will try some tonite. I feel that when I had less of a fill I did better, and I am thinking about going and getting some out as I dont get enogh calories because I get full to fast. I dont think that I get a 1/2 a cup of anything in me. And my body thinks im starving. I talked to a nutrisinist and she told me that I have to eat more. So i am going to make an appoiment to get some taken out tomorrow. I will try and keep you posted on it. Bravo to all you brave ladies for posting, this is my worst fear, to fail at this after all the hard work.......
