Wow. Kim. congrats. I have been so busy that I have not been able to log in. But the last time we spoke you were at 179 or something. But now you are 163!!! That's amazing. I myself, broke the 200 pound mark and I am now 197. I am almost at the 40 pound lost mark. It's great. I go through a new pair of jeans like once a week. I hear ya on not wanting to eat. Sometimes I just forget. I never thought I would be doing that either. Good work!
Keep up the good work!

I have missed ya'll! I am doing great..losing slowly..these last 20 lbs are gonna be the hardest. I have hit my sweet spot..I am not sure what I have in my band. I think I have like 2.75 cc. I can eat very little and really don't even care about eating anymore. I never in a million years dreamed I would be saying that! HahaI went for a consult for plastic surgery..what a waste of time! I just wanted a lift and breast implants. (my stomach looks okay..not gonna need a tummy tuck!) Well the Dr. said I really do need the lift and implants (mine look like deflated balloons after 2 kids and the rapid weight loss) I have to completely stop losing weight and THEN wait 6 months for my body to build up protein before I can have them done! I was so disappointed. I didn't figure boobs would be that big of a deal since I am almost through losing but apparently they are! I am looking at next summer to have them done.
I need updates from everyone! What's been going on around here?

I admit I went a little hog wild my first meal. I had a stromboli with peppers and onions. Man oh man was it awesome!
I had fish and veggies too. I made a list of solid foods that are mushy and stuck with those to ease my way into the solid food prcoess again...it's fun. I actually enjoy my food now bc I eat less of it and actually chew it and savor it. Good work on the 54 pounds. That's amazing!

Good Luck!!!

Do we need to go on full liquids again a few days before the first fill in addition to the days folowing the fill? I get my first fill Sept 16th...and I was wondering about that...
-
We did you do to get off that plateau and get the scales moving again?
-
Welcome to band land! Glad to have you! Good luck. Rest, walk and drink lots of water!

That's amazing. Welll done. Keep up the good work!

Have FUN!!!
Congrats Julie! Awesome. I myself hit the 26 pound mark yesterday. It's an amazing feeling! I love my band! Have fun!

I will get a fill at the end of September, yesterday I was at the ER cause I was vomiting and having severe chest and back pain, but me through the whole shabang and at least my band is fine (so they say) I still feel like something is stuck and its driving my NUTS!
Benfiber chewables are amazing for constipation. You may have to take it a day or two before it gets things moving but then it will make you regular. It's great. I think the chewables are better than the powder bc you can just chew them and you don't need liquid to take it. Hang in there stacey and write everything down you eat. And start walking. I lost my 25th pound today. And I had the surgery the same day. I just write everything down and I eat between 1000 - 1200 calories a day. I also have a pedometer and walk at least 10,000 steps (5 miles) a day, sometimes 20,000 steps. I even put on arm weights on the days I feel extra energy.

It sucks, huh? LOL
Hopefully it won't happen again!
As a newbie on food before my first fill...i am curious...before you all had or first PB episode...did you have a voice in the back on your head saying "don't eat this piece of something?" or "don't take one more bite! u r already full!" or does PBing sneak up on u and it's a surprise that it happens?

I was never told to sleep on my back either??? I sleep on my sides and have since surgery.
That's nuts. Hot Doctor came in and among the things he told me to do and not do before he discharged me was to sleep on my back and make sure I didn't sleep on my stomach. Anyways...well glad to know i can sleep a little differently now...Thanks guys!

I eat alot of turkey, sliced low fat from the deli or the pre-cooked turkey (heat and serve). You can also buy pre-cooked chicken for salads, fajitas, stir fry etc.
Don't forget veggie burgers (soy) and turkey burgers!!! With a little BBQ sauce...Delicious!

Hello All,
Was wondering...I know we were told to sleep on our back's while healing. But do we have to sleep on our back's forever? Can we never sleep on our side or stomach's again?
-
For your first fill, because your stomach is still healing from the surgery, you go on liquids for 3 days. For subsequent fills they have you "test" the band with a small meal since the stomach is now healed.
what about the days leading up to your first fill? liquids also?

Thanks guys. Those are all great tips. Do you ever mix the tuna with low fat mayo? What about rolled up turkey cold cuts...is that ok?
I have really been enjoying Campbells Select Harvest, Mexican Style Chicken Tortilla soup. I add a dash of garlic powder, and a tablespoon of sour cream. It is DELICIOUS! One serving has 130 calories, 2.5 grams fat, and 8 grams of protein! Yummy!Donna

Anyone have good recipes or food ideas for lunch that are low fat?

I second that. I am addicted too. I also go from work screen to lap band screen all day! I love learning about new people and their success and challenges. I think it helps all of us succeed!!! Love it here!
Well, you are all such a great support for everyone I've been addicted since I discovered you all last week. -
"The Zone Protein" bars are great. My favorites are chocolate mint and fudge. They taste like candy bars. So good! They are great meal replacements. I ate them before the lap band and I look forward to eating them once I am on solid foods again.
i don't know about 'whey based' but i do like these protein bars called "think thin" that i get at trader joes.here's the website:

I get the same feeling in my chest when I eat, my port is also still sore, your not alone!
Thanks guys! I feel better!
-
Is it possible for the band to slip or move when you are on creamy / pureed soup phase? I have mild soreness in the middle of my chest and on the left side by the port incision. It's probably just due to walking and moving around too much (i'm in the third week post op) but I just wondered if the creamy or pureed soups could cause a band to slip. And what would it feel like?
