  1. Hi Peggy:

Nice to hear from you, no I have never heard from Allison, and Paige a couple of times but not for awhile. I am not sure about the other Peggy, I think she posted a couple of times when we first got home.

You know I drink about 1 cup at a time too. I have been having broth, drinkable yogurt, protein shakes from Nutriharmony with 27 grams per serving, juice, hot chocolate, and popsicles. It sounds like a lot of food, how come it does not feel like it? We are distributors with Nutriharmony where we get our vitamins and meal replacements. We have been doing meal replacements for years, if you want the info, I will email to you. I have the meal replacement for breakfast (and lunch sometimes) which gives me 27-54 grams of protein for my day.

I have lost 15 lbs so far, but nothing for the last few days. I am going to start counting calories, I have a feeling it is adding up to more calories than it feels. Exercise can not begin for another 10 days or so.

I have not made my appointment for my fill yet. I can not decide when I should do it. I want to make sure everything is healed before I go. Seven weeks is the week before Thanksgiving, 8 weeks is Thanksgiving ans traveling will not work for me. So, I am actually thinking about the week after Thanksgiving, which will be 9 weeks.

    Keep in touch,

    Deb :)

Hi Deb and Peggy - I have been so busy I haven posted in a while. Deb I hope everything was ok with your port. I am feeling great! I am down 15lbs and I cannot wait to have some real food!!! I am sick of soups and shakes!! I think I will go for my fill sometime in early December. Sounds like everyone is doing well.

Hope to hear from you soon. Paige

  2. I GOT AN EMAIL THAT ASKED WHERE MY PICTURES WERE SO HERE THEY ARE:

WE JUST GOT BACK IN, AND HAD A WONDERFUL TIME AGAIN AT THE OCC. I JUST ADDED A FEW MORE PICTURES FROM THIS MORNING FIRST FILL. THAT NEEDLE IS VERY INTIMIDATING!!!

    http://www.webshots.com/homepage.html

JUST USE MY USER NAME, NELSENETC, AND THE PASSWORD IS ORTIZ EVERYTHINGS IN CAPS IF THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. THEN CLICK ON "MY SHOTS", THEN "ALBUM".

Hey, I am scared to death to get the fill it seems worse to me than the surgery. Does it hurt? Do they numb the area? Thanks for the pics.

    Paige

  3. Hi Paige:

I am concerned about my port. I was sitting on my bed with my laptop last night and all of a sudden it was like I had something alive inside me it felt like something moved and flipped. I am getting ready to email the doc. The site has had more discomfort than it had.

Yeah, me too, I am ready to have at least the liquid phase behind us :) Have you lost any weight? I have lost 15 lbs!! That is a ton for me in less than a week.

    Bye for now,

    Deb

Hey Deb, I hope your port is OK keep me in touch. Knock on wood I woke up this morning and the shoulder pain and ribcage pain was gone. I just hope it stays gone!! I have lost 11 lbs Yippie!!

Keep me up to date on your port ! Paige

  4. Hi Paige:

I still have pain in my shoulder also, I guess we should have walked the halls more to get rid of the gas from our stomach's being inflated during surgery. The doctors try to push it all out but..... It will get better, hang in there. Are you doing okay otherwise? Deb

Hey! Yes I am doing well other that that. How is your port site? I am just ready to feel normal again!!

It will all be worth it in the end!! Paige

  5. I had the exact same pain. It is gas. And it hurts!!!! A couple of things that help, walking really helped me. I live on a short dead end street. By the time I walk to the end (.1 mile) and back, I have belched and feel much, much better. I know my neighbors must think I am nuts, but what is new. The other thing that really helps me is my husband massaging it for about 3 minutes. He is the only one that can make it go away, but it helps sooooo much. I can't do it for myself, but he can.

For me, the gas was the worst the first week, it tappered off. But now, I find that if I drink too much too fast, I get that pain again. It is hard to not gulp down water. But I will learn. I get that pain much less often now though. But I am just 5 weeks post-op.

Hope that helps. Walk, Walk, Walk!

    Becki

Hi Becki, Thanks for the info. I have not been able to belch one time. It is like it is all still just stuck in my stomach. It does come and go though. Thanks Paige

  6. Allison, Paige, and both Peggy's are you there? We all have made it home by now. We were all banded on the 28th of September. I have more pain/discomfort than I did immediately post op. I have a strange feeling at the site of my port. If it continues, I am going to email one of the docs.

    Take care,

    Deb

Hi Deb, I just got to my home this morning, my husband had to go to NY on business (he said he saw you)

so I stayed with my parents last night so they could help me with the kids. Im sorry you are feeling bad at port sight. I am OK there but have had a sharp pain in my left shoulder on and off since surgery that is pretty bad. I hope it is normal. Let me know what happens if you talk to the docs.

Hi Peggy's and Allison hope you are doing well !!!!
