  1. Do you mean New Prague doesn't have fluoro? Should we be worried about that? Can we find somewhere else to go? I wish we had some responses on our thread! Sandra

I read that they didn't have flouro and I am going to ask Dr Oritiz more information when I go for my band. I am also going to ask my local MD some questions.

It is confusing because I have read so many different opinions! I was told by the fill center to bring a copy of my post-operative report to the appointment. I thought that was great advice since you never know what will come up medically in your future.

Have you told many people what you are doing?

  2. THANKS Joanne! I felt better just reading your post!

it's funny how sometimes you'll be cruising along just fine thinking ,,, hey no problem ... I got this,,, then BAM!! you are filled with self doubt~!

I know that I am making the right choice 94% of the time,,,,I just have to pull it together the other 6% :D

I like the new adventure idea, it truly is going to be a wild ride.

and it's true about the the people here, there is always someone who has been there too.

I have started drinking the protein water in the late afternoon and that really does take the edge off! try it it works! ;)

  3. I live in a north suburb of Minneapolis. Can anyone advise of a fill doctor in the Minneapolis area? I was hoping to go to one closer than New Prague, which is an official fill center clinic, partly be9cause it seems quite expensive, and is quite a drive. Sandra in Minnesota

Hi I'm from SE MN close to Rochester. I had the same question, is New Prague the only place?? I hope there are some other bandsters who know!

Do you have your band already?

  4. Yeah, i've been doing the same thing but i've been telling myself not to go nuts on it. I have to lose a certain amount before I go so I don't want to put more work on myself. So i've been hitting my favorite places, but trying not to eat everything in site!

I haven't been on here for too terribly long, but you figure it out eventually. Everyone on here is great and is a big help. I had some fears before but now i'm just ready to go!!!! :)

Thanks! I don't want to make it harder for myself either,, I have done so many diets only to gain it all back,, I really want to achieve consistancy with my eating for once in my life.

I had a question about coffee, I've read 2 different things, one said it was OK and it was the carbonated beverages you have to stay away from but I've also read no caffiene?? what have you heard?

  5. Hi there, my name is Caz and I am from the UK and have my surgery scheduled on the NHS for 14th October. I have found sites like this so important in helping me making this huge step and I am so ready to get this weight off.

I currently weigh 310lbs, so have a long way to go but who said want you want is easy....

I hope to get to know a lot more of you and share the UK experience.

    :D

WELCOME! I'm new too and I agree with you, it is awesome to be able to hear from real people going through the same things! You will be getting banded 10 days before me, have you started your pre-diet yet?

Your the first person I've ever met from the UK,, how cool is that! I live on a dairy farm in Minnesota with my family,, I also work in Human Resources at a large medical facility-

It will be a long road,, but I keep thinking it's better than the alternatives!

    Good luck,,,Sue
