  1. I know how you feel! I am 7 days post op and I am finally just starting to feel better today. It will get better! As far as the pain goes, I had a severe headache nd the only thing that helps me is motrin/ibuprofen. I hate the childrens chewables, but it was better than the pain. I figured out the 800 mg dosage and chewed the heck out of the tablets. Hope you feel better soon!

So I am 6 days post op and I have started my cycle, so I am having cramps. But I also feel kinda strange. Bloated but ickey. Kinda Achey, like my body hurts. I cant explain it. I feel like my stomach is sticking way out there. Sometimes I get pain in my chest, I know this is gas but I wonder if having coffee is affecting me. I had one cup this morning. I feel like I should stay home from work and rest but then I feel guilty. I'm tired but then again I am not. It does'nt make any sense. Am I starving to death? Am I dehydrated? I really haven't drank any water today. Maybe that is it. But these cramps they are terrible and I can't take my 800 mg pill, it is too big. I may try to cut it into 4 pieces. I feel a bit confused. Almost cold. I am cold. Maybe I am catching something. Maybe I better stay home and not go back to work. This is awful.

  2. I am so bad at navigating this site! I know it's super easy, but it takes me a while to catch on! Glad you found me!

Looking for Brookeybrook from Arizonia. It's Elaina from NYC. I am trying to find you on here and the search engine comes up with no matching listings. Send me an email at elainadicarlo@mac.com or an email through the lapband forum. My screen name on here is "emd"
  3. Hi there, congrats on your upcoming surgery, dates sure come up quickly!!

Post op you will need, broth, tea, popcicles, jello, lots of water for the first week. Week two and three : creamy soups, no chunks, yogurt drinks, protein shakes, fudgecicles, any non-clear liquid that will pass through a straw. A good hand blender or bullet would help too.

Best of Luck, you will do great!!!

Be sure to let us know how things go!!

Thank you so much for your help!! :)

  4. I am being banded by Dr. Ortiz this upcoming Thursday. What exactly are the clear liquids you are allowed the first week post op? My husband is leaving for Green Bay the same day I return from OCC. Hubby born & raised in Wisconsin has never been to a game at Lambeau received a call last night that our brother in law has awesome tickets for the GB/Cowboys game. I am FORCING him to go. He feels guilty since I am just returning from surgery. Long story made even longer, I need to stock all of the items I need prior to surgery.

  5. After years of thinking about the lap band and speaking with other patients of Dr. Ortiz, I have finally decided that the lap band was the right decision for me. My husband received a nice bonus from work and we decided it was now or never. I am going to be banded on September 18th. The decision was made on August 29th. Here is my question...I am completely in a panic about losing the 5% body weight in the next two weeks. So far I have lost only 2 lbs since starting the pre-op diet. I still have 12 more pounds to go. Weight does not come off quickly for me no matter how hard I try. Has anyone else been in this situation prior to surgery? Did they postpone?
