  1. What are the foods that the band absolutely can not handle or push through? I heard STEAK is the main one for everyone. Some people say they cant eat eggs or bread but then some people say they can? What are the best foods that never have a problem? I want to start making my grocery list for my new me and don't want to have any nasty situations!

Also, how long before we can take a bath or go swimming after getting banded?

I can eat salads. even with dressing. I can eat steak, but VERY tiny pieces. can't have bread or pasta or potatoes. NO WAY!!! gets stuck too easily.

  2. Me too! I thinks it's FANTASTIC that you "guys" are doing this journey for yourselves. I am so proud of all of your successes and am glad that you come here and share them. I wish you all would post more, you are all fantastic role models as are the ladies.

    CONGRATS on the loss!

hello DaGreen! did i read right? are you going for your lapband nov. 11? i go for my first fill then too! i guess we'll be seeing each other. are you staying at the hotel on Nov. 10? would like to meet you and talk about how wonderful the staff is.

  3. Does anyone know of a fill doctor in DC, Virginia or Maryland? thanks!

hello there. i live in pasadena, maryland. unfortunately the closest fill doctor i found is in new jersey, which is really only 2hrs. away. for my first fill, i'm going back to dr. ortiz, just to have them check to make sure everything is o.k. the second fill i'll go to the new jersey doctor. if you go to the obesitycontrolcenter.com website, look under surgery. it will show a spot for fills. just click on that and then it ask you to find a doctor. you give your location and the amount of miles you want to go. unfortunately, you need to click on up to 500 miles. then the location in new jersey will pop up. hey, maybe we ought to get to know each other, then we can ride up together one day, since you are the only md/va/dc person i've seen to have dr. ortiz.
