  1. Hey Stormy!

Girl, It does get so very frustrating....I know there is alot of people who does not agree with this, but FOR ME, I HAD to stay off of the scales. I would get SO frustrated and Discouraged, and what is the freaking use kinda tude...lol , when they would not move...I STAYED stressed about this, which caused me to just have a negative attitude towards everything in my life which cause me to be just a big stress ball...ughhhhhhhh mad.gif ..... ANYWAYS....this is my advice. Pick something that you spend money on per week food wise....Say you go through a fast food place once a week, twice a week...TAKE it out and put that money back. I know times are hard somtimes, but if you really look hard, there is something that you could do without that you are doing now. Put that money back, dont get me wrong, it could take a bit, but something is better than nothing. I have really looked at myself hard and I know that I am NOT working hard enough, some people can do this with little or no effort, NOT ME. I have had to bust my butt for every pound I have lost, logged my food, weighed my food, stayed away from NO NO food, NO friend NOTHING, no breaded NOTHING. Dont only watch the calories but you really need to watch those carbs and fat grams as well. I have stayed away from processed (as much as I can) and canned foods.

These are just some suggestions and you may already be doing these things.....Just know that you ARE NOT by yourself in this one. BABY STEPS, take it day by day, and remember tomorrow is a new day. If you have a bad, not so good day with food and exercise, strive to do better. I have a new motto, thank you Miss Jillian....Take the "try" out of your vocab....its the word to set you up for failure, dont try to do something, DO IT!!!!!

YOU CAN DO THIS GIRL......BEST WISHES and KEEP THAT BEAUTIFUL SMILE UP!

  5. First of all...Shelby GREAT PIC!!!!

Well I think I got the Love Hate thing going on with my scales. LOVED LOVE D the scales at first but about 8 months ago, I really started having very HARSH feelings toward her...lol Actually to be honest I really dont like her at all!

I think it has kept me in check, EXP at first when I was in bandster hell, I weighed myself everyday. Since I have got down to getting off this last 25 pounds I HATE the scale and think for me it is better to stay off of them. I have not weighed myself going on three weeks. I feel like I have stressed myself out because the scale has not moved. I have alot of stress with work and dont need anymore added, I think we all know what stress can do for us...ughhhhh.

I am now going to weigh once a month... AS... long as I am seeing my personal trainer and eating clean foods. I feel for myself if I was to weigh at this point and time and I am busting my butt and the scale has not moved, I think it would devistate me! I am really excited and doing really great with my work outs. I am now going 5 days a week instead of 3...YEAHHHH!!!!! I am SCARED to death to step on them right now, so If I can get back with you not this coming Thursday but the next, Ill let you know just how I feel wink.gif ...LOL

    Carrie

  6. Congrats Lady!!!

I think you are Amazing...you have ALWAYS been so true and honest with yourself and sometimes that is a really hard thing to do. You have been through so much and still you have ALWAYS kept an Amazing attitude towards this journey!!!

I think it is so important to learn through this process. We all have heard it a MILLION times, its not how fast you finish the race, its that you finished! I think having a knowledge about food and learing the importance of what you put in your body and what is going to make you healthy is so much more important that how fast those scales will move. PLEASE dont get me wrong, it has taken me a VERY long time in my journey to realize this. As far as thee scales, I hate them too...lol Kinda have that love hate thing going on. For me, I have decided to stay off of them. I think they stress me out way to much! Im eating nothing but healthy food and I do have a day to eat what I like, keeps me working toward having a good relationship with food and the funny thing is, most of the time when I do eat something that I "think" I want, it suprises me everytime that it really was not that great! SO WEIRD for me! Its Growth, finding the real you, learing, and keep on keeping on!

    Again Congrats Robbyn!!!

    Carrie

  7. Sabrina,

Thanks for posting, Yeahhh there is hope!!...LOL. I understand where you are at, for me it has been MANY MANY months and the scale has not move. I am currently at 1.20cc in my band and have had two "stuck" issues this week, one with rice and one with a plan baked potatoe after a couple of bit so both, NEVER had problems with these before. I have heard more than once that if you keep on keeping on that the scales will move. Dr. Miranda's words to me was that exercise was going to have to be my best friend for my last 20-25 pounds. Well I guess it has taken me months to say ok, maybe so, but I am trying this with a personal trainer and LOVING IT! I too am with Angie, I have stopped weighting myself so much. I have decided not to weight my self this week and wait until next Thursday morning, that will be two weeks for me. LORD GIVE ME STRENGTH not to chunk my scales out the window if they have not moved!!!!! LOL BUT if they have moved and FINALLY get me out of the 180s Im sure you will hear my screams in Canada...LOL

Good luck to you girl and keep us posted!!!!

    Carrie

  8. I am going into surgery tomorrow morning. I have been on the pre-op liquid diet and don't know how I will make it another 2-3 weeks on liquids sad.gif Every day I am surrounded by beautiful and spectacular food that I may never be able to enjoy again. I was wondering if most of you get over that feeling, or if it just continues on. I also was concerned about vomitting. Im not prone to it now, but I don't want to be among co-workers and vomit because I ate a small piece of something. Having last minute second thoughts I guess, but in the end I do know that the band will me regain and maintain a healthier lifestyle. However I STILL WANT TO EAT!!!

First of all CONGRATS and Wooo hooo your journey is ready to begin!

I honestly did NOT have an issue with the 21 days of liquids. I really never felt hungry. You will get to do full liquids and liquid yogurt with other things as well. It is TOTALLY differernt when you get the band. You will get "full" and will not have that craving or at least it helped me, EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT. Just be sure to ask your self if you are tummy hungry or is it "HEAD Hunger"

As far as the vomitting, I was VERY confused about this for a VERY long time. I have only "vomited" once when I found out my GB had to come out and then when I had my PS and but I was completly unfilled. I thought I was vomitting at times ( which honestly is not that many times with in a year half) but I was PBing.....TRUST me when you Vomite you WILL know it. HUGE difference or for me it was anyway......

The band for ME has been a TOOL. It has helped me with living a healthy lifestyle HOWEVER it will limit the amount of food you put into your mouth BUT YOU have to CHOOSE what kind of food goes it your mouth.....Honestly the better fill I have in my band the less "head" hunger and CRaving I have. When I need a fill, I CRAVE everything and want SWEETS out the kouzoo.(sp?)..LOL... Also, sip sip sip, walk walk walk and eat ALOT of Tomatoe Pie...LMAO!!!!! of course after 21 days...LOL

Last thing I would like to tell you is take LOTS of pics, even if you dont wanna, you will be glad you did. Start taking them now if not. Stay off the scale and dont stress...lol wink.gif

    Good Luck to you tomorrow!!!!!!!

    Carrie

  9. Shelby that is AWESOME girl!!!

Thanks for sharing, I REALLY needed to read this today! I STILL am not out of the freakin 180's ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....HOWEVER I have hired a Personal trainer that kicked my butt tuesday. ALL I did was work out with the ball and HATED it!!!Dont get me wrong it was HARD, but just was not my thing. I went for my second session this monring and my trainer had a flat was not there so they put me with another guy. He does the kick boxing trainer and OMG is was torture but I REALLY liked the work out. ALOT of punching and kicking....So I have changed trainers and have him booked Monday Wednesday and Friday next week....kinda excited about it! Ready to get this off and really excited to have someone PUSH me!

    Again Congrats girl!

    Carrie

  10. My insurance covers the precedure, and I really want it but im a big chicken.

Im afaid its gonna hurt when they put the needle in for fills. Im good with

the anesthesia part, but needles in other places than my arm kinda freaks me

out. Someone please tell me about your experience unsure.gif

I was SO scared my first fill. I was nervous, HATE needles but let me tell you, I was ashamed, do you hear me ..LOL. I had WORKED myself all up and was worried for nothing. I remeber thinking ...are you serious ....that is it!!...Girl trust me, it is NOT bad!

    Carrie

  11. Thanks Shelby!

You would think that this fill since I have not had one in so long will do it but goodness I dont know! I do feel restriction with this fill, was kinda worried being that I am starting all over again. How are you doing, is the no dairy working for you? I have been thinking bout this one myself...I love cheese...LOL biggrin.gif

    Carrie

  12. Thanks Angie, I guess we are going to have to put each other on a calenders...lol

    Dennis,

I hope everything is ok with you. Why are you seeing your surgeon? I hope this spot goes down but it has almost been the full three months and I dont think it is going to. The Doc is going to look at it on the 24th. My sis in law asked me at mothers day when I stook up. "Are you sucking in" lol She knew I had the surgery so not sure why she asked that. ANYWAY...you look AMAZING and we need to go on strike with the 180s!!! I am going to weight Wednesday morning and xing my fingers that it says at least 179!

    Pammie!

Thank you and how are you doing with you band, everything ok?

I also have one more question. I dont know if this happens with just implants, but with my Blift and implants I have a question. I have just recently been able to sleep on my side but when I do and I turn back over to my back...ohhmy! It feels like the cut that is under my boobie where they did the lift is going to bust open. It kinda has the burn pull feeling until they settle back in place feel??? I dont know if that is what they are doing but I feel like I can feel them moving???? Kinda hard to explain. Has anyone had this issue?

  13. The doctors at the OCC tell me that 3 fills should be all somebody needs in a lifetime, but I see alot of people getting 5 or 6 fills. What gives?

I was told the same thing. I did not get my fills at the OCC.. EVERYONE is so different, what someone can eat others cant, some can have a little fill and some have to have larger fills. I think it also depends on how "tight" someone wants to be. I will have to admit at first, if I could get food down in the morning I was freaking out thinking I needed a fill. It was crazy way of thinking but that is what I thought. So if you will see I had ALOT of fills. I do think it is important to maintain your fills but it is at the level of tightness that you have to adjust and see where you wanna be, there is no magic feel number. I have still have never gotten to my "sweet spot".

I do have to agree with what has been said, the band is a tool. You HAVE to watch what you put in your mouth, the calories that is in foods and you do have to exercise, the closer to goal the more you have to do this. I have been struggling for the past 6 months I would say to get out of the 180s and it is driving me crazy. I have 25 more pounds that I want to get off and I know the only way for me to do this is EXERCISE and I HATE exercise...lol

The band has helped me control the amount of food, the tummy hunger and even head hunger with fills BUT I MYSELF have to control the type of food that goes into my mouth! The foods that are really bad for me are the ones that goes right down...ughhhhh!!

    Good Luck!!

    Carrie biggrin.gif

  14. Angie,

I have MISSED you so much! I know "life" happens and I SO need to stop and take time to smell the roses! I got up this morning just so that I could log on and take a peep around and I am so glad I did!

This post goes to show again, just how AMAZING I think you are! You NEVER seem to amaze me with the kindness and willingness to help anyone who needs it. I am so truely blessed that you ran across my path in life! You will never know how you can impact someones life. Dont ever stop being the person you are!

    Thanks for everything you do!!!

    You friend!

  15. Hello everyone!

I wanted to stop in to say hello and see how everyone was doing. This time of year gets really busy for me at work and we also just went to a new computer system so it has been horrid the last couple of months at work.

I just got my first fill yesterday from PS surgery, was without a fill for right at 3 months. I did not gain, but did not lose either. Soooo I still am sitting at 181. sad.gif . These 180's have been HELLO for me.ugghhhhh SOoooo ready to get out of them. Shelby you keep telling me I will but I am REALLY starting to worry...lol I am x-ing my fingers this fill will kick start something...lol He was going to start me back around 1.50 but only put in 1.20. I was on liquids yesterday and I will stay on them through today. I am doing great since my PS and I have my final appt on the 24th of this month. I will be able to take my after photos, looking forward to that. Everything has healed pretty good, there is one place right beside my belly button to the left about 4" long that we have been watching from get go that we think may be holding fluid, that they may drain when I go back, just kinda puffy, is not laying flat like the oppsite side is. Girls are doing great, cant wait to get in a bra! Wow did I just say that....lol

Everyone looks great! There is alot of new people that I am sorry I have not gotten the privileage to speak with, Angie work your magic girl! wink.gif

Debbie, Im sure you are getting so excited!

Everyone else keep up the hard work, it will pay off in the long run!

    Carrie

  16. Yes you definetly will. How are you doing Carrie? You healing good. How are things looking?

    Debbie

    Hi Debbie!

I am doing great, my belly button is starting to look alot better. This week has been good. I dont have the pull feeling as much and dont have to hold myself to stand straight up. I did walk yesterday for the first time for 50 mins and that went really well. Was pretty proud of my self. Just cant wait for the three months to be up to have my final result, kinda excited to see the before and after pics!

I have decided NOT to get a fill for right now. I am not stomach hungry and I really think I was too tight last time and did not loose the weight. I am going to start back measuring and really hit the exercise and see how it does. If I start having the hungry feeling I will go get a fill, but not until then! I am going to do this for me, I really need to use the knowledge that I have learned and use it! This is a lifestyle change !! I am going to work really hard this weekend I WILL be at 179 xing fingers by wednesday weight in!!!

How are things going with you?

  17. Thanks Carrie. How many days did it take before you were feeling pretty good? Also any regrets at all?

    Deb

    Hi Debbie!

I was SOO sick from anthesia, I always get this way, no matter how much they give me to try to prevent it, it just dont happened. So glad I got a complete unfill. I was sick waking up out of surgery, a little over 6 hours, and I dont really remember the drive home, I slept. As soon as I got out of the car, I got sick all the way into the house. That night eveytime I moved my head I got sick. I did have a presciption for phenergan which I only had to take that night.

Honestly I felt ok the next day after I got home. Got home on Tuesday evening and Sunday monring I was going crazy to get out of the recliner. I put on a pair of loose jeans and told hubby I wanted to go eat breakfast and go do our shopping. (EVERY Sun morning, we go to church, to Ihop for breakfast and then to Wally World and Sams). We that was not the brightest Idea I have had..lol. I had to be really careful sitting down and pulling myself out of the car. Hubby did help, could not reach to pull the door close. Sitting in I-Hop was not too bad, got a booth so I could sit alittle different, coming out was ok until I stepped off the curb, did not realize how much you leg streatches out to step down......Wal-Mart was ok, just walked really really slow..lol...Sams I was ready to GO home! I started having a really bad burn feeling everytime I took a step, as a matter of fact hubby went and got the car and helped me out of Sams into the car...BAD IDEA! I "felt" better but I was no where near ready for all of that.

I am 3 weeks and two days post and I still can not sleep through the night and most mornings when hubby leaves around 430, I come and get in my recliner. It still feels really really tight when my legs layed all the way straight in the bed. My boobies are driving me crazy!!!!! The are still itching and are VERY sore every night and morning. Not sure why, unless I am just so busy durning that I dont really notice??? When I sit up from laying in the bed, I can feel the implant move.

Right now I am going through this healing process and my belly button is taking the longest! I sit pretty much all day at work and for three weeks I have worn a binder. (life saver!, feels like my insides were going to fall out without it). Well It caused me to get a fungus in my belly button from sitting, not letting it having air so to speak. So I am treating that. My boobies are healing really great still have some scabs, but most ALL are gone. I have a place on my right side that is very very smooth and you really have to look for the scar WWoooo Hooo, that is a good sign! I am using a scar cream now called Mediderm, it is around $25 a tube, small tube, but goes a long ways.

I dont have any regrets at all, the healing process is just alot. Like I said I have never really had pain, just pull burning feeling, but I just want want everything heal and me be on my little way and this one, it is not happening, AT ALL!

You also have to remember I was cut hip to hip, and then straight up for my Ext TT. The for my boobie lift, I was cut under my boobies, up the middle of my boobies and then my nipples but back on...Soooo as far as laying in the bed, I think alot of mine had to do with the cut that when straight up....

I hope I have answered everything, if you have any more questions, please let me know! I hope all goes GREAT for you!

    Carrie
