  1. Hello everyone,

I'm terrible about posting on here, but I couldn't think of a better group of people to share my victory with than you great bandsters! I weighed in this morning at 199 lbs!! Finally I'm in Onederland! I moved to CA a couple weeks ago and have joined a walking and hiking group so I've been really getting out there and working my booty and its paid off! 5 lbs lost in the last week alone! I am super excited needless to say - especially since I've been plateaued for the past couple of months. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Gin @->---

  2. I too am the same way - those first couple of bites no matter what they are - are just a pain in the booty! I'm so used to it now that I just plan on the beginning of my meal taking at least 10 minutes, then after that just like you I can usually finish the rest. This makes eating out a lot of fun! LOL Keep up the good work though, honestly its amazing what you can get used to. Its just the way I eat now. =D

  3. I am too in San Diego. My close friend was banded a year and a half ago and is also here in SD. If I remember correctly, the SD group meets during the week when I am working. I would love to get together some time if you ladies would like :)

Wow girl you are doing a great job and your pics are gorgeous! I'd love to get together some time if you want - maybe we can go to the beach/pier or get coffee or something. Let me know cause I'm definitely game! :D

My personal email is ggdiva99@yahoo.com if you'd be interested in talking about this more.

So, How do you like San Diego so far? I actually moved to Riverside County early last year.

My husbands ship will be stationed there in a few months. We also drive sown several times a month.

I miss being down there. I love the new area but the weather is definitely not the same.

    Well, I am off now,

    Kristi

I'm sorry I missed you! I'm loving it so far - although its a little hotter than its been when I've visited in the past! I've been here a couple of weeks and am really missing my family and friends, but other than that I'm starting to get out and meet new people and am enjoying life. =)

  5. Welcome to San Diego! I live here, too. My surgery date is on September 25. There is at least one support group that I am aware of that meets in Mission Valley. I am too tired to look up the details but I will do it when I've had sleep.

That's great - if you have time I'd definitely be interested in the details! Are you super excited about your upcoming surgery date? It's so close! I'm excited for you. =)

  6. Hey everyone!

I haven't posted in forever and looking all the back messages I'm seeing how much I've been missing out. I need to be more active on here from now on! :D

Anyways, I just moved to San Diego from UT and I was wondering if any of you guys live here and would be interested in getting together. I don't really know anybody here yet and I've never met anyone else who's been banded so I think it'd be great to be able to talk about all the unique issues we share with someone in person. Let me know if anyone would like to exchange info. Thanks and great job all of you! I've been reading the posts and looking at all the before and after photos and I'm so proud of us all!!! =D> =D> =D>

  7. WOW!! Thank you all for all of your warm welcomes - I really appreciate you all. :D

I think to answer some of the questions - my fill was from 1.8 to 2.6 cc and I'm now back down to 1.8 so I can once again eat pretty much anything I want which was why I went to get my fill anyways, but oh well...also I'm so used to not eating now that it seems like a bother and I actually have to force myself to eat my meals...weird but true - I guess you can get used to anything! I was able to lose 66 lbs mainly because I really watch what I eat and try to be healthy most of the time and I go to the gym 3-4 days a week (usually  ). I got this surgery to lose weight and realize the band is only a tool - so I am trying my best to take responsibility for my actions.

Thanks again for all the support - I'm really feelin' the love! G

  8. Hello everyone,

I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself to all of you lovely people. I have actually been visiting the forum for a few months off and on reading posts to gain inspiration, help and/or camaraderie when I needed a little boost. However today is the first day I took the extra step to register so I could post myself. I am a California girl actually living in Utah for the time being which isn't my ideal situation, but I'm dealing! :P I had my lapband surgery on May 15th with Dr Ortiz just a couple months shy of my 27th birthday - I finally made the decision to get the surgery when I realized I didn't want to hit 30 with my weight and health feeling so out of my control! To date I have lost 66 lbs which I am sooo excited about!! I've never lost that much weight on a diet! =D>

What actually spurred me on to make my voice heard on this forum was the realization that I am making myself go through this journey completely alone which is completely unnecessary as all of you are here helping each other out and all I had to do was sign up to be a part! Duh...call me slow if you want! ;) Anyways here's what happened...Friday before last I went to OCC to have my second fill and at the time I thought it seemed a little tight, but I wasn't smart enough to go back to the clinic to have another adjustment before going home. When I got home Saturday things went downhill and I was forced to throw up my lunch (literally!) and from that time I couldn't take in any food or liquids. NOT COOL! Food I can deal without for a while, but anyone who knows me knows that I am a water fiend and not being able to drink any of the sweet nectar of the gods for three days was miserable! :(( So on Tuesday I got in to see a Fill Centers USA doctor here in SLC and had an unfill back to 1.8 cc which was the level of my first fill just to be safe. The good thing about this whole ordeal was that I finally broke my plateau of 52 lbs down and am now down 66 and it was a heck of a learning experience! As I was saying earlier though - I had to go through it basically all alone because I hadn't made any relationships with any fellow bandsters - a mistake I am looking to remedy now. :D I hope to talk to all of you over the next little while and make some new friends as we go through this lapband journey together.

So thank you all for reading my loooong post (sorry about that!) - and I hope you all have a great weekend. Much love, G
