  1. Yes,we are close to each other. Maybe we can schedule our next fill together. How did your fill turn out?

I got my fill last night in San Pedro - price $250 for first visit. He gave me a very nice manual with alot of information for LapBand patients. He talked to me for about 15+ minutes really helpful on the diet / excercise tips. Then I got my fill - he did a great job - no problem finding the port - on the first try. I asked him how much he was going to fill me and he said .50cc (my first fill was 1.6cc) I explained I wanted an aggressive fill so he increased it to .75cc. If within a week, I feel as though it is still not enough, I can go back for free for a fill or an unfill. I plan on returning to see him. I was very satisfied with their services. The future fills will be $150/200 I forgot for sure what he said.

  2. I too feel a little uneasy having to cross the border. I drove all the way once, and walked across with my mom the second time. This time I will be walking it too. I was going to try fill centers USA in Garden Grove, but that place isn't open anymore.

Are you having the fill done with flouro? I sure hope you get the restriction you need from this fill.

He does not use Fluro - but I am still going to give it a shot. I was a little disappointed the last time I went to OCC and paid for the $100 border crossing,on the way back I was dropped off and did not know where I was going or had to walk (I was scared!!) the driver was not the regular driver and could not speak english to tell me what to do. So that is what made me try and find a new place, if I could not find someone to go with me. I will let you know how it goes.

I am hoping for the best because - I have been HUNGRY! not losing anything. I do not think I have gained, but I need it to be more aggressive - I need the help with restriction or I will EAT! Maybe next time we can hook up and go together, you are soooo close to me. Talk to you soon!

  3. I actually cancelled my appt. because I found a Dr. in San Pedro who does fills for $200.00 + a one time $50.00 Consult fee. I go to him on thursday 2/5. I love it at OCC, but I do not like taking the trip by myself. Plus, San Pedro is so close. I will let you know how it goes. I have really been at a stand still after my first fill, I feel soooooo hungry all the time. So I am hoping for great restriction with my 2nd fill.

  4. Hi Shanalee!

Congrats on your decision! You are very lucky to have your hunny going with you! What a blessing that you can share this with your soul-mate.

I had my surgery last Friday - everything was a perfect 10! The Dr's, Staff, Hotel everything went perfect! I too got alot of raised eyebrows by my decision to go to TJ, but I was so desperate for change and I did not have the power within myself to make the change. Food became my drug after my only child, my son, 22years old passed away, he drowned with a friend at the beach. I self medicated. I finally reached the point to climb out of the hole I had dug for myself, It truly was the best decision I could have made. I finally feel like I have hope and a reason to live - may sound crazy that this surgery could been seen as such, but it was my life saver, to finally do something for ME!

I wish you all the best hun! Stay strong & stay focused on your decision, let NO_ONE stand in the way of climbing the mountain of Success. Take care! ;)

  5. I personally think its all in a patients mind. Some how they get the notion that after being banded they can't swallow a pill. Big vitamin pills never got stuck or backed up on me. I guess if your pills are the size of golfballs then I'd be concerned. The best rule of thumb is to swallow each pill one at a time over a period of time and see what happens. It's like eating with the band,, some things will go down real easy and some won't. It's just a learning curve thing. LOL.

    FYI -

Actually the Dr's and on your paperwork it states that you can not take the whole pills after, you must crush them. I was just banded on 11/14 and when I got home I forgot and swalled my pills as usual, I called the Dr and he said to not do it again and to crush them, it can make your band slip, or get stuck. So its in the paperwork not in the mind. But maybe different Dr's say something else - just speaking from experience.

    Congrats on your surgery!

  8. Hi!

I am new here and I am having surgery on November 14th with Dr. Martinez. I have been looking around and everyones pictures before and after are SO AMAZING. It is hard to wrap my brain around the fact that I could post some of the very same pictures! I am so ready for this journey to start!

I am new here "today" and just wanted to say, my surgery date is on 11/14 with Dr. Martinez too. It just hit me - I think I am getting nervous!! Not to much about the surgery about the Pre-op Diet!! I am going to do the liquid one week before. I am struggling with completely stopping the smoking. I really enjoy the cigs as relaxation from stress. Well I wish to say to you Congrats and Good Luck - maybe we will see each other. Take Care
