  1. My left shoulder is killing me, I know its gas pain but I've taken GAS-x strips and chewables, wallked alot, and slept with a heating pad on it, what else can I do? It feels like someone is hammering a nail into my shoulder! Other then that I feel great. Please help!

Hi Jenn, I can't believe that shoulder is still bothering you. I hope the masage works.

Thanks for all your support at the clinic and being my friend.

email when you get a chance.

  2. That's pushing it,, usually you don't get out of the OCC till mid to late morning and the van takes you back to the Lucerna. Getting checked out of the OCC and taking you back to the airport to catch a flight by noon would be tough. Plus you just had surgery the day before,, you need that day after to rest up from the surgery. You'd have to contact your coordinator or the OCC about that.

Thanks Mr Dolittle. I am now leaving on Sunday. I don't want to rush things. I just hope I don't have any flight problems getting to San Diego. Going home is not as important as getting there. Thanks again.

  3. Have any of you purchased airline vouchers off of eBay, newspaper ads or Craigslist? I'm thinking of doing this, but thought I'd see if anyone has actually done this.

    Thanks, Kristy

Whoa Kristy, please be very careful with this. Most of the vouchers that are issued because they were bumped are not transferable. It is written in fine print on the voucher.

If they are giving you frequent flier miles, that may be a diff story. Just be sure to get all the details on the voucher first.

  4. Just remember to pack LIGHT! Like I said, I didn't use everything I brought and it was extra stuff to drag around. Stick with only one change of clothing really. I wore to OCC the same clothes I left with. Then surgery day I stayed overnight in their clinic and that left just one day at the hotel to do whatever and this is when I used my other change of clothes. VERY simple. And just your immediate toiletries is all I needed, nothing fancy. The room had soaps and shampoos and conditioner, and water bottles, each day. Make sure you empty your purse and only take what you really need and take lots of ones and five dollar bills. I brought Crystal Light "to go" drink packs and benefiber and don't forget those wonderful Gas X strips! You will definetly live on those to help with any gas bubbles you may have. All this fit in my MINI suitcase on rollers AND I still had room.

In addition, take a small pad and pen, in case you meet up with someone and you can jot their info. Take pics if you like. The clinic has a computer area where you can go on this forum to say "hello" as well at the hotel too...just ask.

    Good Luck Jenn and congrats!!

Thanks for all the info you provide on this site. You have really helped me so much. I am going to be banded on Jan 2nd too. Very excited. Can you please tell me what the minimum amount of time is needed to stay in Tijuana? Is it possible to leave by 9AM the day after surgery? I am having some issues with flights and wondering if it is possible to be on an airplane by 12noon the day after surgery.

    Thanks

  5. I am so paranoid, I am doing the 3 protein shakes a day and taking out the lean cuisine as my surgery is on Friday. I have lost only 2 lbs and I am super paranoid I am going to go down there and be turned away! I havent passed anything hardly and feel like I am retaining water, any suggestions? Has anyone on the board had to be post poned?

Jen, I am so happy you asked that question. I feel better with reading the responses. I only lost 5 lbs and I am starving. See you on the 2nd.

  6. I read the same article you did!! The random killing is what scares me the most.. I don't plan on visiting any malls or

restaurants anyway. I think I'm more nervous about possible violence than I am the surgery..

BTW, where is Revolution Avenue? Is it within walking distance of the hotel or clinic or will I have to take a cab??

I was thinking the exact same thing about the violence. I have surgery on Jan2. Does anyone know if this latest violence being reported is in

the same area as OCC and our Hotel? I am with you, I am not scared for surgery, I am worried about the violence.

  7. Hi everyone, I was hoping to see if anyone else was scheduled for January 2nd. I am getting banded that day! I live in Orange County and arriving the morning of the surgery, do most people get to leave the next day??? I am assuming I will be able to go home on the 3rd (assuming everything goes as planned). Im so excited!

    :D

Hi JennHB I am going on Jan. 2nd also. I can't wait. I am flying into SanDiego on the morning of the surgery. I am excited, have you started you pre-op diet yet? And what are you doing. Wow talk about a New Years Resolution.... no backing out this time. Please feel free to PM me.
