  1. Well I can't seem to do either so I may not be the best person to reply but PB stands for "productive burp" when you're food can't go down so it comes up! Mine gets "stuck" but doesn't come up so I'm left with major pain in my chest until the food eventually works it's way through. The "slime" is a thick saliva that many people start to spit up when something is stuck. Again, I don't slime either but I researched getting my band for three years and this is my understanding from what I have read. Glamouros, isn't it?!

    Sabrina:)

Oh! Thank you so much for explaining the PB. I kept reading it & wasn't sure what it was. If I do have stuck food, and I will burp but nothing comes up! I also saliva, & saliva, & saliva. I get real hot and start panicking. It seems like forever, but you are right about walking around. It seems to help. I always go outside to cool off. Scarey! I hate it!

  2. After you've gotten food stuck, did you find that whenever you ate afterward, you got a stomach ache? I've had a sore stomach for several days whenever I eat or drink anything. Anyone else???

No, I don't get a stomach ache, but I am so scared it will happen again that I usually go back to jello, or pudding, or something I know will not hurt again! Liquids for life if it keeps happening! :D

  3. After a fill (my first one is scheduled in March) is there a dietary restriction for a while? Are you on liquids for a day or so? If so, how do you know if the fill has the right restriction, and not too much? Sandra

Hi! After my 1st fill, I did not go on liquids. I had read several people's comments about being on liquids. So after my fill, I asked my doctor, so I go back to liquids for a few days. And he said no. I can definitely feel the restriction and had trouble with some foods that I had eaten before for a couple of days, but now it is better. Just have to eat small bites and chew, chew, chew. Good luck!

  4. weird question - but - does it hurt getting a fill? Ive seen the pics of people with a big needle in their stomach.... looks kinda painful! Does it hurt internally as they fill you?

    thanks :)

My fill did not hurt at all! I was so relieved. My doctor gave me a topical numbing shot so the big shot did not hurt me at all. I did not feel anything. I watched my dr. the best I could while laying down flat and he put a small round bandaid on me when he was done. He said he was through and I was shocked that it did not hurt. I love my dr.

  5. I have had breakfast sausage and ham get stuck, and salmon got stuck twice on different weeks. I may not be able to eat it but I love it. When things get stuck I know that I am either eating too fast, too much, or not chewing enough. I never realized that I eat so fast, especially at work when I am in a hurry! I gotta slow it down some more. I have not had my first fill yet and I am so afraid to have one now. I hate it when things get stuck! It hurts so bad! However, that is the whole purpose of the band... to get fills.
