I think it's true that you shouldn't be ashamed of what you did to get healthy, but I think Dr. Ortiz did mention that you can get the port pushed further under if it starts to become visible. I would check on it.

I had my surgery on March 4/09 and had tons of shoulder pain, even while walking all over San Diego for three days. The Gas-X strips helped a bit. It hurt, but it was not unbearable. Knowing why I was having the pain made it easier to get through, it's only a couple of days. Don't know if that helps, but that's my experience. :--)

I have my appointment on March 4. I'm very nervous but my boyfriend even more so, mostly about Tijuana which his (oh so helpful) family keep pointing out is full of shootings and drug problems etc. Despite it all he's still up for the trip and I'm so excited at the thought that my weight roller coaster will be over!
