Thankyou for your message and I have just had it confirmed by a doc at our OCC clinic that it holds upto 10cc - so if I werent so fat I'd be doing cartwheels right now. Also the stomach convulsions that I have been getting is normal and is actually to do with the port - can you hear that Luanne that noise is me giving a huge sigh of relief.

He said there doesnt have to be a pouch - just restriction.

I do have 3.5 in now so am going to get it emptied and start again, I feel like I've been given a second chance - the scary thought of something being wrong worried me to the pit of my stomach.

I'll let you know how it feels on monday when I get more fill.

How have you being doing in general? You know the thought of not having this band depressed me. The doc suggested not to eat anything before the fill, take something to eat with me and eat there and see how if feels. So obvious yet I hadnt done that. What would you take to eat...I'm thinking strawberrys.

If I have this figured out right. A VG band holds about 10 cc of fluid. I have a VG and had up to 6 cc. but had to have an unfill and start all over. Restriction is strange tho cuz it varies by time of day and of course types of foods and chewing well. When I have gone a long time without eating I have to be very careful what I eat or I get backed up quickly. Did you mean that you have 3.5 cc in your band now? I have 5.3 cc now in my 10 cc band and scheduled an adjustment in 2 weeks. Still searching for the "sweet spot". I think the VG band holds more fluid than alot of the others on this forum have the smaller band.

I posted earlier as have been told I have no pouch and my band is sitting at the entrance to my stomach. I always thought that my band was took upto 4cc. Am just wondering if its a 10cc and where I have 3.5cc that could be the reason why there appears to be no pouch maybe I am grasping at straws.

I had my band fitted 13 weeks ago now.

I have known for awhile things havent been as they should as I wasnt feeling restricted long after a fill. I've had 3.5cc in total and can eat just about anything wait a second then continue with a meal.

My barium swallow shows that I know longer have any pouch and the band is sitting at the entrance to my stomach. My family doctor isnt available and the covering doctor said to wait till he gets back in a few weeks as its nothing life threating.

Well, whats scaring me is that twice this week I woke as my stomach was contracting/convulsing just like it would if you were vomiting but it wasnt affecting me to make me wretch. The night before last when it happened it went on for several seconds. I wondered whether i was just in a state of panic and had imagined it. Then last night it happened again it was for maybe 2 seconds but I felt the tightness of my stomach as it flexed itself.

I am quite calm about all of this and have mailed my results of the swallow to the clinic.....its just being waken by these stomach spasms (as you can see I dont know what to call them so am trying every descriptive word that covers it).

Does this happen normally when the band comes out of position. I'm thinking the band is leaking as I had restriction for the first days or so after a fill then nothing.

Can someone please please give me some insight into what might be going on.

Where abouts are you in OZ? We are moving out in the Perth region according to our 3 year plan and I know theres a place in Adelaide that definately does banding.

Dont worry so much guys - i did before but have gone twice and its easier than you think. I am in Alberta and was just there last weekend and am going back in three weeks.

I book through expedia.ca - just book so that your flight gets into San Diego at a decent time in the day and the OCC van will pick you up. Then have your flight home for later morning or early afternoon (makes it easier on us canadians). The lines arent that bad at the border because we get to bypass a lot of it

I hope we're not caught in a line up - even though I'm a canadian resident I'm a uk citizen.

I have my appointment on March 4. I'm very nervous but my boyfriend even more so, mostly about Tijuana which his (oh so helpful) family keep pointing out is full of shootings and drug problems etc. Despite it all he's still up for the trip and I'm so excited at the thought that my weight roller coaster will be over!

Gulp, just read your thoughts on violence in Tijuan! Am going there with my husband and daughter my appointments on the 5th. Where abouts in AB are you from?

Just a thought, Edmonton & Calgary have there drug and shooting problems - it'll be home from home!!

I am scheduled for a surgery with Dr. Ortiz on 26th Feb 09. I gave up smoking today, till the surgery and am on liquid diet.

Now I want to know how do i fly from toronto directly to tjuana? is there a direct flight? does tjuana have an international or domestic airport?

If i fly into another city in mexico direct and then change planes to go to tjuan that is also acceptable.

Some one please help me. Flights from toronto to sandiego are very very long, and the times are super odd, and require changing of plane.s

I'm flying from Alberta next month and had a choice of changeovers varying from Seattle, Colorado, Vegas and somewhere else then into San Diego where I'll get collected by someone from the Dr Ortiz's place.

I'm on all liquid at the moment, I'll be introducing a lean cusine meal besides two shakes the week I'm going to travel. Hows your pre op going?
