  1. I have been thinking about calling the office to the local doc in town that does lap-bands (actually did my dad's gastric bypass 3 years ago). I am nervious about their reaction when I tell them I am having the procedure done in Mexico. Has anybody had a similiar experience or have an idea about US doctor's feelings on the topic?

A little unrelated to the topic...I am getting banded on the 30th and I am a little worried about how I will react emotionally. I am very even mannered , but I do know that I eat when I am stressed. ANy advice on surviving the first few weeks?

    Thanks- you guys rock!

  2. I'm staying at the other place. Hotel Lucerna. I e-mailed OCC a little while ago. I'm by myself.... And thought I'd try it'... If I don't like it I leave - and go to the Marroitt -

What time you landing & Leaving?

I am from Florida, but will be in Vegas that weekend so I'm flying in from there and get to San Diego around 10:00 a.m. I'm leaving around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday.

  3. Booked my fill -

    June 29th staying till July1st - flight isn't till 10pm who's staying where?

I stood at the Marriott the last time Since I have to go to Cosmed i was thinking about staying at the other hotel OCC offers......

Tho I really felt comfortable @ the Marriott

    I don't know -

I am arriving and leaving the same dates as you and are staying at the Marriott. I am having surgery on the 30th.

  4. Thanks for the great advice. I tried the Adkins shakes today and after a few sips I feel like I can't take the taste anymore. I will try a few more- I am especially intrested in the 6 pack for $5. I noticed many of them are rather pricey.

I am in marketing so I have no heavy lifting and am inside almost the whole day. I am not planning on telling anyone about the surgery so the hardest part will be trying to avoid my staff noticing me not eat for two weeks.

This forum is such a great resource, I look forward to learning more from all of you!! :)

  5. Hello all! I am having surgery on June 30 and I thought I would start exploring liquid options so whe nI get home I have a plan. Does anyone have some suggestions for protein shakes you have tired or other liquids that helped?

Also, I plan on going back to my job (in an office) exactly one week from my surgery, what should I expect?

Thanks for you help- I'm excited, but full of questions!
