I think I am in it right now. I have no restriction so I am pretty hungry. I have gained 3 lbs. back from the 16 that I have lost. I gained them back right after I started eating solids. February 3rd (first fill) can not come fast enough.
Anyone else want to share your BH experience? I would love some encouragement.

Whoa that is a really interesting concept. Off to go check it out.
-
Deb - do you eat the same breakfast, lunch and dinner?
-
I just wanted to post and let you know that I support you and hope that you get some answers and relief soon. We are all here to help you in any way we can.

Today was my first day of solids. I woke up this morning not as excited as I thought I would be. I was actually a little scared. I drank my coffee and was putting off eating until my stomach was growling like crazy so I made my usual breakfast of Fage nonfat plain yogurt with blueberries and chopped almonds. I used to eat about 1 cup of yogurt with about 1 cup of bluberries and 22 almonds. Today I made it with 1/2 cup yogurt, 1/4 peaches and 8 almonds. I ate it and felt no restriction (chewed slowly and thoroughly of course) and when I was finished I was totally satisfied.
For lunch I made a small taco (white flour tortilla, leftover taco meat, lettuce, tomatoes, olives, small amount of cheese). I ate this and was waiting to see how the tortilla went down. It was fine. I was surprised because so many people have issues with tortillas. I was totally satisfied and full after that. Pre-banding I would have eaten twice the amount of yogurt (at least) and at least 2 tacos with maybe something sweet afterwards.
Tonight for dinner I made a lasagna and garlic bread. I haven't eaten any yet but I will have a very small portion just to make sure I don't PB or have any other problems.
How was your first day on solids???

That is awesome! I can totally see that in my head too. How funny. Congrats to you on "not being big enough to steady the washer."

AMEN SISTER! I feel the same way. I am getting my first fill in Feb and am hoping I get some restriction from it. I figure I am flying into San Diego and going to the OCC I want to make as few trips as possible. I hope we get some good reasoning on this.

YAY!!! So glad to hear that you are all doing well. Awesome. I love those damn otter pops too.

Janice do you live in Sac? I will have to make a trip up there and go to the Galleria soon. Maybe we can have lunch or meet up.
That is a really cheap flight. Roundtrip from here is about $220. I got my flight free though because of my hubbies SW rapid rewards and I get the next flight free too. YAY! Can't wait.

This sounds really good. I will have to try it.

I am so excited for all of you! That is awesome. Before you know it you will be done and home. No worries. Everything is going to be great. Update us as soon as you can.

Wow Lisa that is amazing. Congrats on the big loss. I would love to get into a size 6. lol

Thanks for the update. I am so glad that it went well for you. I have my appointment there in a month and can't wait. Are you feeling restriction yet?

Roughly 50 calories per point. Yah, that does seem a bit high. I would think the most you would want to consume is around 1600 per day.
I was thinking around 1500-1600 as well. I also put in lose 2 lbs. per week. Hmm very strange. Thanks for the WW point info.

Thank you everyone for listening to me and giving such great advice. I really appreciate it.
Genie - you have blown me away with your weight loss. That is just awesome.
2 more days until I can chew. lol

Great resolutions!!
Mine are in no particular order lol
1. Walk the dogs more often.
2. Floss my teeth every day.
3. Get down to my goal weight or a size 8 by my bandiversary (12-18) and not be skinny fat. I want to be toned and strong.

Hey Steph, Im doing great! Ive lost 21lbs since Dec 5th. My boyfriend kept making me weigh myself every other day, so i was losing 2lbs every other day. But I didnt want to weigh myself like that, so now I started weighing myself every Saturday. I noticed I lost 5 lbs this last week. I started at 237lbs then surgery date I was 231lbs..only lost 6lbs! But they have been melting like everyone said they would. I also believe the bigger you are the faster you lose, then it starts to slow down. My boyfriend went to rub my back, and he said "Oh my god, your buffalo hump is gone"! (you know that hump on your back, below the neck)..It really did go down. It was really funny! I dont know if it is really allowed but ive been hiking on a 3 mile trail for the past 3 days now. I have my friends encouraged, so we all 4 girlfriends have been excercising together. My paper work says you can go back to the gym 3 weeks after, just no sit ups and stuff, so I figure there is equipment thats like hiking at the gym! I get to start eating on Thursday, so Im nervous. I still havent stopped my chewing and spiting out,to be honest that really satisfies me. After chewing whatever it is that Im making, I feel like I ate it. May be gross, but its helped me get this far. I found a few websites, some for lapband diets, and some for dieting, I started a grocery list to get ready for eating, so Im doing well. (I went out dancing last night).. Im not sore at all, I have even started sleeping on my stomach (just a lil bit though). The only thing that bothers me, not that much but I do think about it, is the port. If you rub my stomach you can feel it. Im not even pushing on it, just rubbing. So as scared as I am of having any more incisions, I feel like I might have to have it relocated. But thats just how I feel now. Will see more down the line. I have been more scared of my port being moved, or just having port problems, then having band problems. I dont know the signs of port problems though. Other then that I feel perfect, and excited about the weight that I have lost already. Im a little sore from hiking. Cant wait until the day I can go through the whole trail without stopping 15 times!
Wow you are really active already. I have been doing my elliptical a little here and there and just cleaning around the house. Fun stuff. Great job on the huge loss. That is so awesome. I need to start weighing myself once a week too. This weighing everyday stuff is for the birds.
My port area is still a little sore but the scares look really good for being less than three weeks post-op. I am using this stuff call Scar-Guard that I bought a while back.
I have a buffalo hump too and once I read this post I felt mine and it is getting smaller too.

Great question Genie. I am wondering about this too.
Thanks Bogiesmom for the reply. Off to check out that website.
OMG mine came back at 1834! That seems kind of high to me. I should just start following WW again. I wish I knew how many calories per point it was.

Thank you Donna. I keep forgetting about the Benefiber stuff. I need to get some of that.

Waiting to hear how all of you are doing. Please update us and let us know. I hope all of you are feeling good (albeit a little sore) and are very happy with your decision. Please check in when you can.

ppy New Years to you too Angie and everyone else in this bandster family. I feel so fortunate and blessed to have been banded in 2009 and am SO TOTALLY lookimg forward to 2010. What an awesome year we are all going to have.

Six more days until I can have regular food. Don't mistake this as an unappreciative rant. I LOVE my band and feel so lucky and fortunate to have it BUT (and this is a big BUTT) I CAN NOT WAIT until I can chew on something (even if I have to chew it 30 times before I swallow it.) If I eat one more bowl of cream of mushroom, creamy split pea or liquid yogurt I feel like I am going to puke. lol I have lost 14 lbs. so I am VERY happy about that. I just can't wait to bite into a crunchy carrot or an apple.
How about any of the rest of us who are working through our 21 days?
