  1. Girlfriend, I know the grass is greener but please allow me to envy you for 60 seconds...

okay, I think it is awesome you got 7.5cc total on your second fill(awesome for me not for you I guess). Did you get your second fill at the OCC? Did the OCC over fill you? Who was your fill doctor? That seems weird becuase they have been fill stingy with me...hmmmm. Would you mind PMing me so we can take this off-line? I want to compare notes with you and pick your brain if you don't mind.

It sounds like to me that you are slightly over filled and B: your not getting enough calories and your body has gone into starvation mode.

    PM me please.

I don't know how to pm, can you explain?

  2. I completly understand your frustration, I was banded on 12/11 at the OCC, I have lost a totalof 30 lbs, but have only lost 5lbs since going on solids. I had my 2nd fill two weeks ago and am at 7.5 cc and cannot keep any solids down, every attempt to eat the smallest piece of any solid gets stuck. My diet consist of Oatmeal in the morning, soup for lunch, yougart for snack and oatmeal for dinner. I repeat still not loosing.

  3. I was banded 12-29 at OCC with the SAGB-VC band. I have had 3 fills and am upt to 7cc and still have lost no weight. I am drinking my protein, have some restriction, but still not losing weight. I am worried something is not right. Anyone else have the same band (which holds 11ccs) If so, at what point did you find your sweet spot?? How many ccs do you have and at what point did you begin to lose weight????

  5. Zoey,

Thank you for asking, I think I'm doing good, I have a low bmi compared to some so sometimes it's hard to gage because I will lose a little slower. I don't feel much restriction but am using all my past dieting experience to my advantage at this point. I get my first fill on 1/22/10 and am scared to death because I HATE needles lol..... I have lost 14 lbs since being banded :)

I really wish you well, I hope you get better soon.

    Tamara

  6. Just a little update, banded on 12/11/09 and feeling really good after a week 1/2. I've lost 8 lbs since the surgery but now that it's a fewdays before Christmas finding very hard to be on the Liquid Diet, just trying to stay strong so not to mess up my band. Can anyone tellme how long it usually takes for the glue to be totally gone?

Merry Christmas, I really enjoy reading everyone's different expierences.

  7. My first BM was not until 2 weeks after surgery and only after a call into Dr. Miranda did she tell me to drink prune juice. Honestly, 4 ounces of prune juice got things moving again and I did not have to drink it but on a few occasions so I do not think it is really a concern. Your body is adjusting, just give it time.

The one thing that you did not mention that I am wondering if you are doing:

How much water are you drinking? 64 ounces a day? Have you tried mixing fiber powder in your water? It is tasteless and odor less or you can get the flavored kind. I think this helped me in the end.

To be honest, I have only drank about 4 ounces of water a day. I can barely get in 4 oz of broth, 4 oz of gatorade and 4 oz of water a day. I feel so full plus if I try to get more in the gas seems to get worse. I didn't realize I was suppose to get 64oz of water in.

  8. Well I was banded 12/11/09, the surgery went great but I am haveing severe gas pains and I hope this is not TMI lol :) but I have not had a bowel movement in six days. I called Dr. Miranda she said to try drinking prune juice and use a sapository have done both but still no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions for the gas pains or the other problem?

  9. My magic date is 12/11 and I haven't been able to lose the weight! I'm kind of freaking out here.

I am also scheduled for 12/11, I started my diet last wednesday and have lost 7lbs, doing the slim fast, slimfast, lean cusine diet. I have cheated a few day's and eaten 1 shake and two lean cusine's. Don't get discouraged, if you haven't already try it, seems to be working for me.
