Nice to "meet" you.. I to work in the healthcare field as a dental assistant with extended functions and clinical manager, so when I went with my daughter for her banding I paid close attention. Hi Sandy,
I am afraid to eat food too, because I know this is where some bad habits happen...like knowing when to stop and not feeling guilty about leaving food on the plate...I am mentally preparing..this will be one of my biggest challenges..

Hi,
When are you going? I'm in March and my daughter 21 was in January --she too was scared but we made it and because of her great results I'm going for it..a little nervous but only because it is such a huge lifestyle change..but watching my daughter go through it I know I can and we will be there for each other. She told me this forum was a great place to be and I agree.

Congradulations on going for it. I am 49, and wish I had done this 20 years ago if it was available then. I have suffered since 18, gaining and loosing...I have watched my daughter do the same and we both have tried everything. For the past 10 years I have not gained but had to work really hard to loose and then just stayed the same..only low carb helped. She was banded 1/7 and now I'm next.

Even though not really showing on scale...five patients have remarked on my weight loss this past week and a half...I will take it!!!

That happens to me too. I see that I am smaller when I look in the mirror but the scale doesn't agree. Weird isn't it? While I have to admit that the numbers on the scale are important, I think the way I feel is more important.

Are you measuring yourself? I wonder if it's inches and not pounds what you're loosing.

Hang in there..I have to say without Advil during work I can def feel the pain. I took another bandster's suggestion and am wearing the stretchy tank top thing under tops..really helps..Lane Bryant sells them. The hunger starts to fade..it's always a feeling but not as bad..just different. Soup tonight than god..Hang in there..how many days since surgery for you?

Hey how are you guys doing? I made a great split pea soup...yum and bought a couple of not bad boxed ones.....Looking forward to food.
