  1. Morning,

I was banded in 8/10 and it was the best decision of my life. I was self pay and did extensive research to ensure I was making the right decision on where I went. I took a friend who had had Gastric ByPass here in Washington state. WITHOUT A DOUBT, this was the place to go. My traveling partner could not believe the superior treatment I was receiving versus what she received in the U.S. Her father, a man in his late 60's made the decision to go down and have the lap band in 8/12 and he also feels he could not of found a more professional, caring medical team. I have also gone back for some cosmetic procedures with Dr So and once again was treated with wonderfully. I cannot answer any questions about the sleeve but you do not need to worry about the team that will be working with you. I say with it feels you are part of the team not just the body they are working on.

    Hope that helps some

  2. major congratulations and welcome to your new journey/life. I am two years out and have never regretted a minute of it. A dear friend's dad went down last month and he echoes yours, mine and all others great rants about the OCC. When they were down in TJ they also found( courtesy of the OCC) the White Smile Center, and were as impressed with them as they were with the OCC. I am going down in Sept for a checkup, fill, filler, and dental work. Can't wait.

  3. Just a word of encouragement, please what ever you do, follow the diet guidelines as far as the time in each stage. I have seen numerous acquaintances get the band from American (local) drs and not be given a post diet and be on solid foods almost immediately and then go for fills within 3 weeks of surgery. According to the post op diet from the OCC, you are still in transition to solid food at that time.

  4. I have recently discovered Metro water. It is all natural, no additives, no sugar. your first taste just normal water but then you get a "whiff" of whatever flavor you have chosen. The Choc mint is like having a 0 calorie liquid Thin mint (especially useful with girl scout cookie days approaching). The spearmint is awesome as well.

  5. I do not remember reading or being told I could not do caffeine. I had my two cups of coffee a day right from the start. Have had no issues. I was not a huge carbonated drink drinker so I just opted to cut them out totally. The only thing I missed this summer was not Harvey's hard lemonade but I found a non carbonated replacement LOL
