yes, those were really the only pains i ever had. i called occ and lori explained to me what it was. can't remember exactly to explain it to you, but she said it was totally normal, so i have't worried much about it anymore.

i called occ today to get some more information about fills so i can start looking at airfare but i didn't even ask about price ? duh.... does anyone know how much a fill and fluroscopy are ?

why have you been taking your temp ? did you take it often before your band ? even though 98.6 is the standard for body temp, some poeple naturally have temps that are slightly higher or lower.

oh my gosh !! where are you ? where did you go ?
-
this may sound like a stupid question, but i just don't get this. why are we suppose to chew until food is liquid since liquid is what passes so quickly ? i thought the whole point of the band was to get food to sit in the pouch to make a feeling of fullness. so then why don't we just chew until chewed then swallow so it can sit ? am i making any sense ?

it doesn't feel like gas to me, i've had that before after surgery. just wondering i guess how it will feel to eat.

i was banded last friday. when i drink and get full, i feel it up high like in my chest. when i would eat before my band, i would feel full down by my belly button. is this how it will feel when i am full on food ?

i was banded friday and i know it's only been 4 days, but i expected to lose at least a pound or two by now. my scale says exactly the same as the day i weighed at occ before my procedure. how long did it take before pounds started coming off for you ?

hey,
i've been overweight over the last few years. i did not grow up overweight or was overweight as an adult until the last probably 5 or 6 years. i am emotional eater though which is why i put on weight. does it get easier not to eat emotionally when you have the band ? i have tried diets over the past few years and am started to get worried i might fail. i have had the hardest time on preop diet and when i weighed today, the scale was up. i'm worried i'll get to occ this week (surgery is friday) and they'll refuse because i haven't lost my preop weight.

ohhhh. I was thinking maybe I missed a step in all this !! Thanks !

I'M SCHEDULED FOR LAPBAND 9/10/10. I SEE SEVERAL PEOPLE LIST THEIR GOAL WEIGHT BY DR. MIRANDA. I DON'T HAVE A GOAL WEIGHT. WHEN DID YOU FIND OUT YOUR GOAL WEIGHT AND HOW DO THEY COME UP WITH IT ?

thanks guys for your replies !! i'm excited and looking forward to my little mini vacation !! haha funny how having surgery to get away by yourself for a few days is something to look forward to ?

My lapband surgery is 9/10/10. whoo hoo, so excited. I've gained a lot of weight over past 6 years from fertility and then divorce (yuk,
I am an emotional eater for sure). My sister was going to travel with me, but isn't now because of the cost of getting an expedited passport and airfare. I've heard so many scary things about traveling to Mexico lateley. I've been before but with a group and was never afraid. Has anyone been alone ? It seems that the locals would know we are there for surgery and scope out the hotels, etc for unsuspecting medical tourists (ha). I sound like a rambling scaredy cat, but just wondering since I am now a single mom and want to be safe for my kids. Funny, I'm not worried at all about the surgery, just staying in Mexico by myself.
first fill ?

i've been reading and seen in many places on the internet that mexico doctors are more aggressive with fills and often place more in during a fill and requiring less fills over time. what did you have placed in a fill ? if you had fills in the states and at OCC, was there a difference in experiences ? thanks.
