  1. i've been reading and seen in many places on the internet that mexico doctors are more aggressive with fills and often place more in during a fill and requiring less fills over time. what did you have placed in a fill ? if you had fills in the states and at OCC, was there a difference in experiences ? thanks.

  2. this may sound like a stupid question, but i just don't get this. why are we suppose to chew until food is liquid since liquid is what passes so quickly ? i thought the whole point of the band was to get food to sit in the pouch to make a feeling of fullness. so then why don't we just chew until chewed then swallow so it can sit ? am i making any sense ?

  3. hey,

i've been overweight over the last few years. i did not grow up overweight or was overweight as an adult until the last probably 5 or 6 years. i am emotional eater though which is why i put on weight. does it get easier not to eat emotionally when you have the band ? i have tried diets over the past few years and am started to get worried i might fail. i have had the hardest time on preop diet and when i weighed today, the scale was up. i'm worried i'll get to occ this week (surgery is friday) and they'll refuse because i haven't lost my preop weight.

  4. My lapband surgery is 9/10/10. whoo hoo, so excited. I've gained a lot of weight over past 6 years from fertility and then divorce (yuk,

I am an emotional eater for sure). My sister was going to travel with me, but isn't now because of the cost of getting an expedited passport and airfare. I've heard so many scary things about traveling to Mexico lateley. I've been before but with a group and was never afraid. Has anyone been alone ? It seems that the locals would know we are there for surgery and scope out the hotels, etc for unsuspecting medical tourists (ha). I sound like a rambling scaredy cat, but just wondering since I am now a single mom and want to be safe for my kids. Funny, I'm not worried at all about the surgery, just staying in Mexico by myself.
