  1. yes, you do continue to use it but with less and less applications until you find the timing that you need to maintain the length and fullness you want. I end up applying it approx 1 to 2 times a week.

Wow!! 1 to 2 times a week? That makes if quite affordable in the long run. The real cost is the initial start up. I'm getting really happy about this stuff. he he he

  2. Now that I think about it, I wonder if anyone here needs mens clothes? I have 4 pairs of casual khaki type of pants for men. They are 38 x 30. I have some medium size mens shirts too. Any takers? Lap banders or hubbies of lap banders? Anyone?

Don't give up watching the forum. Clothing exchanges would follow the seasons I'd presume. I know I re-assess my clothing acquisitions & donations near the end of a season. That means winter/spring stuff would just be coming around at this time. Hang in, it's a great idea!!

  3. I am 55. I am concerned about doing this at my age. I don't recover as quickly as I did when I was younger and I am worried that I will be down longer than the 10 days or so I keep reading about. All you 50 and over tell me what your experiences were.

Edmund, Never let your age prevent you from doing something to restore your body or health. Yes, healing might take a wee bit longer, but I think you will ultimately feel much younger in a short time. This site is wonderful for sharing and support. You came to the right place. Good luck!

  4. Such good info!

Thank you so much for sharing!!!

Yes, that's GREAT information. I'd much rather invest in something like that than keep getting fills. I wonder if it's continuous and what happens if you stop using it once you've acheived the results you want. I'm guessing you have to keep using it at least to some degree. Thanks again for that. I'm gonna buy some.

  5. Dr Chistopher Nyte in Portland is amazing. Many of us have had surgery with him and are very pleased with results.

I did have a thigh tuck and am happy with the results. I did find it very painful compared to the extended tummy tuck and the scars are very visible so if you would not be happy with visible scars you should think twice.

Good luck and I strongly recommend Dr Chris Nyte. You can check out his web site just google him and you will find a link for his web page.

    Debbie

Hi, Did you mean the scars from the thigh tuck are visible? I wondered what the residual scars would be like. I guess that means that even if you get it, you still can't wear shorts? Sorry to ask so many questions, I'm thinking of getting it myself. Thank you so much for sharing.

  6. Yep!

i've had eyelash extensions done a few times. I'm not sure about where you live, but they did cost me $120 a pop.

And they do fall off, slowly .. one by one. Each 'round lasted me about a month.

You don't use mascara over them - it's not needed. And you can't rub your eyes.

If you're not good with things around your eyes, I wouldn't bother.

I wear contacts, so it didn't phase me.

If it's just a date you're going on, just do fake eyelashes, as Ashley mentioned. - A LOT cheaper, quicker, and you can take them off the next day!

Just make sure you go with the more natural looking ones, or you'll end up looking like a drag queen .. and your date will wonder why you look noticeably different on date #2! ;)

Hahaha, Lindsay, that's hilarious, but so true. I don't want to look that much different, nor look like a drag queen. Thank you Canuk, that latisse sounds interesting. Isn't it by prescription only though. Seems I remember it from my days working in pharmacy. I'll have to check it out, that seems more natural and permanent. Thanks so much guys! :)

  7. Wow LoriBecky, you look amazing! I've never considered botox until now. Any idea how long a treatment with botox will last? I'm really interested in finding out more now. Also, the non-surgical facelift sounds amazing as well. Hmm, you've really got me thinking and searching around now. Thanks so much for the testimonial. :)

  8. Canadian girl, I know what you mean about a craving for sweets. I have a huge affinity for chocolate myself, but solved the over indulgence part by buying dark chocolate in small drops. Although dark it healthier, it's not as tasty. So, instead of chomping a mouthful I have one drop at a time, allowing it to melt before the next one. I find that I'm not eating nearly as much chocolate this way. It might work across the board, don't know. I wish you well with whatever option you choose. :)

  9. Ladies, don't write this man off yet. I have lots of reasons to believe that this "death" is just a hoax. We shall see this summer for certain I think. I'm thinkin he wants to teach certain people some lessons & get all of us to realize we need to take care of our planet and each other.

  10. Bella 1980 I too would recommend purchasing them online. They shouldn't cost too much for postage and often you can shop around and get a better deal online since they don't have the overhead that retail stores have. Most have phone numbers you can call to be sure of the ingredients.

  11. Since I'm looking thinner, I've considered getting those eyelash extensions and wondered if anyone has done this and about your experience. I know they only last for a few weeks, but I have an important "date" planned soon and thought it would be appropriate. Any tips or feedback would be appreciated since I'm a bit unsure about doing stuff so close to my eyes. Thanks.

  12. absolutely correct. the amount of time you spend in a size when you are dropping the weight is minimal, it, in my opinion is a waste to spend good money on clothes that you may use for 30 to 60 days.

You got that right girl. Also, I went just shopping for winter coats last fall and left with a really nice London Fog down and thinsulate coat for a fraction of the price I would have paid in the mall. They do have some brand new items with tags. Probably overstock or leftover seasonal items.

  13. What are the breathing exercises for? I have heard of breathing after surgery but not before surgery. What is the benefit of this?

Edmund, it seems the breathing exercises are intended to keep the lungs clear, especially post op. Postoperative patients are more susceptible to pneumonia. Deep breathing and coughing exercises help to avoid that.

  14. I'm so excited that once again outside exercise is possible. I used to like to ride a bike a lot, but with traffic these days I much prefer walking. There are so many sports to participate in as well. Which is your favorite outside activity?

  15. I've found Value Village the best source for clothes during my transitional phase. I guess the states has Goodwill and perhaps other local second hand clothing stores. I know it sounds second rate but I've actually seen brand new clothing with tags in some of these stores. It seems they get overstock from some retailer. It's an affordable option since you will only be in that size for a short time, right?

  16. Wow! A new study out of Rhode Island has found that Lap Band surgery brought relief in the number and severity of migraines. It was a small study group but half of the participants reported a 50% decrease in headache days, whether they lost weight after the surgery or not. And the headaches they did get were less severe in nature. That's good news to me.

  17. Has anyone tried Emu oil for loose skin issues? I have used it for years to prevent wrinkling and it seems to work very well. The stuff penetrates through all 7 layers of skin and really keeps skin moist. I buy it plain and directly from the farms and add essential oils for fragrance and additional benefits. Has anyone found other natural products that help restore elasticity?

  18. I just saw the new statement by the Diabetes Foundation regarding earlier gastric banding for obese individuals with type 2 diabetes. They are terming obesity and diabetes as "epidemics" and strongly enforcing that banding should not be a last resort option because the earlier it's done, the greater chance of success. It's a very interesting article I think

  19. Canuk, I know what you mean about wanting to always be just a bit thinner. There's that fine line, and yes the media has made it fashionable to be deathly skinny. However, these models are very young girls and their bodies can take that stress. Being very thin has its disadvantages as far as our hearts are concerned. Our hearts are a muscle that need to be nourished well to continue to beat regularly. I've been thin and I've been heavy and have gotten comments all through the spectrum. People will always give their opinions, but what my body says to me is what's most important now.
