  1. I need suggestions to gain weight after gastric plication. I had gastric plication at the OCC in November 2011. My starting weight was 203# and my goal weight was 140-145#. I am currently 129#, and It seems like no matter what I eat which is not much I can't gain any weight. People constantly ask me if I'm sick and make remarks that I'm "TOO SKINNY". Any and all suggestions to put on a few pounds are greatly appreciated.

  3. Having the plication was the best decision I could of ever made. Pre-surgery I was 203 pounds and miserable. 14 weeks later I'm down to 161 pounds and feeling great. I have more energy and a new outlook on life. It is definitely a personal decision as to which procedure a person chooses. I did not want to remove any part of my stomach, therefore I chose the plication. I have had very few problems, the main one being "gas." Gas-X and walking usually resolves this issue. I highly recommend the OCC and the gastric plication procedure.

  4. PadresGrrl,

I am doing much better now. I've decided that tuna and cottage cheese are my best friend. It is crazy, but I enjoy drinking buttermilk also, and it fills me up. I have to totally AVOID carbs like mashed potatoes because they make me deathly sick. My weight loss has slowed down some, but I am still losing a little every day. As of today I am 177 pounds, down 26. I will start walking and exercising next week, so hopefully that will speed up the weight loss process. I would love to be around 160 by my birthday in February. I am thinking about some fatty salmon tonight! I'll keep you posted on how that goes. Keep me posted on your progress.

  5. I made it the 21 days which was pure torture, and when I attempted the pureed foods, I got sick. I'm doing much better now. I had my surgery on November 24th, and have lost 26 pounds so far. My goal is to be 160 or less by my birthday in February. I started at 203. My current weight is 177. Clothes are falling off, and I feel great. I try to eat small meals (6-8 bites) every couple of hours, and sip liquids throughout the day. I have decided that carbs are an absolute NO for me. I tried the mashed poatoes and thought I was going to die. Cottage cheese, and plain tuna have become my best friend. I hope to hear how others are doing at this point.

  6. Well as of today I'm down 24 pounds, and I am still having problems eating anything creamy. I carry nausea medicine with me and know that I have to take it regularly. I start soft foods on December 15th. I'm really nervous about how that is going to go! I'm praying for the best! Keep me posted on your progress!
