  1. Kay you need to slooooooooooooooooooow down. That's about as simple as it gets. Sometimes that is tough, I know for a fact. I was a single mom for 15 years and I was always on the run.

Here are some tips (that have worked for "me") that might help in an emergency:

    1. When eating out, always know where the restroom is. You might need to visit it. Don't be embarrassed.

    2. Keep a roll of paper towels in the car. It's helped me out before. Might want to keep a plastic sack too.

    3. Know that the 2 words "excuse me" will be a huge part of your vocabulary. :D

Best of luck with your new band!

    Michele

    THANKS FOR HELPING ME,, ><img src=<' />

I had my first episode of food getting stuck this morning. I grabbed one of those little danish pastries that were at my motel for the 'continental' breakfast as I was checking out. I tore a bite off with my mouth, and, without thinking, let it slide down without chewing. WOW!!!!!!

This was the first time I had any feeling of having the band inside me, and it felt like someone had a hand in my abdomen, twisting my stomach around! It was a sensation of discomfort I have never felt. Fortunately, I was near the juice machine, and I quickly got an OJ and washed the piece down. I am not sure if a piece of meat or any other firm food would have washed down so easily, so it was a reminder of the need to chew, chew, chew.

I have not PB'd or 'slimed' thus far, so getting food stuck was my first side effect. I do not know what would have occurred had the piece not washed through.

I HOPE YOUR DOING BETTER, THANKS FOR HELPING ME,

    THANKS AND GOD BLESS.

  2. I was just banded in TJ last week, and am looking for some support and help when I have questions online. My best friend had it done in July and her surgery went much smoother than mine, but I am okay. I will need to find a fill Dr. In Salt Lake City or I'll just have to make the trips to TJ until I find one here.

Right now I am mostly struggling with the pain in my shoulder that comes and goes and seems to be worse at night, but that could be because I am trying to sleep and more aware.

Besides this forum, what are some other good places for post-op information and support? How do I begin finding a local doctor to do fills?

im neebee also i get banded wed,, you will like the people here they have been wonderful to me. i personally dont have answers yet, but id like to welcome you here,,

    GOD BLESS
