  1. From my experience, the few days after surgery when the drain was in, I didn't feel any pain, but there was discomfort, some pressure in that area of your stomach. When they took it out, there was a slight sting when she cut the stitch that held in the drain, but the removal was painless. I didn't even realize it was out. My surgery was last week, all my incisions are healing great, of coarse the drain incision is a little bigger than the rest and takes more time to close.

  2. Drs say it is totally normal, it's from your stomach being so big and now it's the size of a banana. The gas has to escape somehow, I also asked about the constipation and again, since there is nothing but liquids in there , it's normal to not have a bowel movement. Well this journey ends tomorrow when they take out my drain , and go home to begin my new weight loss journey. One that I have been waitin for years to go on. I thank all the doctors and nurses from the OCC, they have been angels sent from up above ;)

  3. Yesterday I was discharged to go back to the hotel, everything seems fine, some discomfort but they say that's normal. My only issue is that I have this gurgling sounds coming from my throat. It starts from my stomach area like a hunger grind and ends up in my throat. I read on obesity help.com that it is normal, that its the air and gas that's tring to get out. But man its annoying! Another concern, I can't poop! Lol, I've been constipated since beginning the liquid only diet, today at noon, I'm scheduled for a drain check and gauze change, ill let the doctors know my concerns.

  4. Surgery done, and now back at the hotel. I can say like so many others that my experience there was wonderful, the doctors, and staff were amazing! I was third in line and everything went good. I remember talking to do the doctors in the operating room, then waking up in my room. It went fast. I actually doubted if I had the surgery done or not :) I feel no pain just some discomfort were the drain is located. Last night I had a feeling of indigestion, it feels like gastritis , but the doctors said it was the gas, that it should fade away within a couple days. I didn't get much sleep because there seems to be a night club around the corner of the clinic and had the music blasting till 3 am. Oh and one more thing, my preop diet was a success, I went from 314# to 288#! A total of 26lbs dropped in 2-3 weeks! Woo-hoo!!

  5. So far, so good, I departed from Orlando at 8 am, arrived in San Diego at 10 am. Flight was long, and annoying, it took so much not to order or fall into buying those delicious breakfast bagels they sell, it's so hard being on this liquid diet with so much yummy food around you! Anyways, The driver got held up at the border, and ran 1 1/2 hr late to pick us up, as soon as we stepped into the lobby of the hotel we were treated like loyalty, they have given us great service so far. My mother decided she wanted to go for a walk (30 min),and end up in a beautiful plaza/ shopping center. We did some window shopping and got a few things, and decided to come back to the hotel to eat. Now that I'm writing this, she's yelling at me to put on my shoes and go for another stroll. I guess walking is good exercise but geezzzz! Well tomorrows the big day and I just can't wait , say a little prayer for me, hopefully everything turns out good! I'll try to write about my experience at the occ tomorrow night! "see y'all on the other side"

  6. Day 5 on the pre-op diet and going strong! I wasn't going to weigh myself often, but somehow I end up on the scale every morning, and somehow I'm loosing 1 lb a day :)! I'm not going to lie, I have urges to 'cheat' but find myself going to sleep or for a short walks with my dogs and just forgetting about food :) My surgery date is for April 17th , I'm just counting down the days! Those of you that have been through this, any advise and inputs would be greAtly appreciated ;)

  7. Ok so I've booked my surgery date for April 17th, I don't know why but my biggest worry is not the actual surgery, it's the flight there and back! The last time I flew was a few years ago, and about 40lbs lighter. I had no problem fitting into a seat but was somewhat uncomfortable. I wanted to travel alone but came to the decision in bringing along my mother so that way she sits next to me( and not a stranger who may complain that im alittle over on his side). My question is how do tell if your to 'large' to fit in a seat, is it required to purchase a 2nd seat if that's the case? Thank you and any comment or advice is greatly appreciated :)
