  1. My husband had the surgery 3/2 and Dr. Miranda gave me a recipe to try for him cause he LOATHED the protein shakes during the diet prior to surgery. It is as follows:

    8ozs Vanilla Silk (soy milk)

    1 Tbs Cocoa Powder

1 Scoop Chocolate Protein powder (we used the GNC Whey Chocolate-Caramel powder)

    1 banana

I also threw in like 4-5 ice cubes so that it had more of a smoothie consistancy. Then I turned on the blender til it was all mixed and poured. DH said it was just like a chocolate milkshake and he had one at least once a day up until today!

Hope that helps and good luck with surgery!!

  2. 1) They don't use stitches at all. They actually use glue (Elmer's I think - just kidding) which will dissolve on its own. My incisions stung a little when the glue started to dissolve so I put a band-aid over them to hold the skin still until I healed a bit more.

    2) I've never asked, but I'm sure between them and the forum here you could get a few names. What city are you looking for?

Thanks so much for the reply Clynn!

I was looking for something close to the Pittsburgh, PA area. When looking on the Fill Centers USA site, the closest fill center is in New Jersey. Which really isn't *that* far, but it would be nice to be a few hours closer ;)

  3. I am getting banded on March 2nd, and had a couple of questions:

    1. What kind of stiches are used for your incisions? Are they the dissolve kind, or would I need to have them taken out?

    2. Did you contact the fill center yourself or will OCC help you locate and contact the closest Fill Center USA? Or can OCC let us know of any doctors close by that would fill/treat me?

    Thanks for any help :)
