CJen
I am over two months post-op, and I am having a lot of pain this last couple of days. I sneezed this morning, and I had pain also, I am kind of weirded out, because I haven't felt like this since right after my surgery. Has anyone else had this problem? Thank you for reading this! ValleyGirl
I had port pain last week when I was sick and coughing non-stop. It has since subsided so I'm not too worried but if you are, send OCC an email. Sabrina:)
nothereanymore
I've had weird pains now and then, I think since we have this new thing in our body, sometimes we're going to feel it if we do too much or pull the wrong way. That's most likely why they don't want you doing ab work for 3 months. I'm right on board with Sabrina, I wouldn't worry but check in with the OCC - for your own piece of mind, and just to double check. vangirl
I too have had the odd pains and aches around my port and the site of the band. It's due to scar tissue formation, and this is actually a good thing, because it means that the port is less likely to flip if there is scar tissue. CJen
Ok, so my friend told me that it's possible that this pain is caused from me eating to quickly, and drinking to quickly! What do you guys think?
BandDiva
Ok, so my friend told me that it's possible that this pain is caused from me eating to quickly, and drinking to quickly! What do you guys think? I feel an ache if I eat too much. It's probably swollen. However, you can also just bend or twist a certain way and it also gets irritated. I had one of those before that took my breath. Just go easy for a few days, if it doesnt get better soon. I would call the OCC.
Smiley
It's due to scar tissue formation, and this is actually a good thing, because it means that the port is less likely to flip if there is scar tissue. I hope this is the case. If it is, the only thing that could get to my port and cause it to flip would be a jackhammer. I spent a few months in pain because of scar tissue, but it has now subsided. About once a week I feel a slight twinge of the pain, which is my signal to stop doing whatever I am doing because I have no intention of knowingly allowing that kind of pain to start up again. One thing I learned was that taking deep breaths increased the pain tremendously, so I learned to take small shallow breaths and I also catered my exercise to my pain level.
