Plateaus SUCK!

Recommended Posts

So I had my 4th fill on the 30th, I now have 3.2 cc's in my 4 cc band and I think I FINALLY have some good restriction! However, I am still SO frustrated. I am eating so little and working out and my body just doesn't want to give it up! Most people say their bodies like them at 200 lbs, mine likes me at 220! It has been 4 months and I have been sitting right around 220 for 3 of them! I am just hoping that the scale will start moving again soon in a downward motion because I would hate to have paid all this money to loose only 30 lbs!

That said, I got a haircut for the first time in 2 years this past weekend and it has really made me wake up from my little coma I have been in since I had my little girl and start taking better care of myself and my appearance. I am fitting better in my clothes and now I am about a lb lighter just from the 12 inches of hair I had cut off! I also donated those 12 inches to Locks of Love. It always feels so good to be able to donate my hair to kids in need of wigs. All in all things are great, really great! I just want the weight to start falling off like it is supposed to so I can feel excellent!

find yourself a happy place and try not to beat yourself up. We have all gone through this. I am now on my second plateau and boy does it suck. My first one lasted two months, BUT I was losing inches like crazy, your body will kick in to action again and catch up.

Denise, Dana and Jude have all had the same thing happen. Be strong and be positive, you will work through this!

Samantha,

Hey girl I totally understand your frustration! I have been stuck at 213-216 for 7 months!! I finally went to get another fill yesterday and hope that this will be the one that helps kick my weightloss into motion again. I can't wait to see if I have restriction. I have been going to the gym consistantly for 2 months now and just don't understand how the weight isn't melting off. After talking to my fill doctor yesterday I am going to make sure I start eating 60 grams of protien, drinking enough water and increase my calorie intake slightly on the days I work out. GOOD LUCK and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hugs,

Celia

Amen to that. They do -S - U - C - K-. Hang in there. Put away your scale and just concentrate on the healthy life style changes you've made and your current success. When you put away your scale, also put away one piece of clothing that fits you perfectly.

After 30 days...(yes...not a day more than 30) pull out the garmet you stowed away and try it on. If after seeing how fab fab fab the garmet fits you, you STILL want to pull out the scale do so. If seeing the garmet is enough, keep the scale tucked away and stow away another outfit.) Lather...rinse...repeat once a month.

:)

Also, another tip I learned today...if you call ahead to a store like Macy's or Nordstrom they will pull outfits for you before you arrive at the store. Give yourself permission to try on a few things they pull. They'll guide you on what fits your body "today" and help you with taloring when you lose more weight/inches. Their clothes might cost a bit more, but you don't need to buy everything they pull but promise yourself you'll buy at least one item. Then in all honesty, after seeing a professional tell you what works and what doesn't, you can walk into a store with more reasonable prices (since anything you pick won't fit you shortly) and use what you learned to buy a few more items if you need to.

I followed my own advise for the first time today! I needed 3 outfits because we're going to film 3 shows before my surgery date and go on a vaca from taping for a month. I knew the clothes had to "fit" me today and I knew only a professional could tell me if they did. I didn't buy pants, only 3 tops...oh and they will also fit you for a bra. I RECOMMEND THIS!!!

Hopefully you are drinking at least 64 ounces of liquid each day. Even if you are, that may not be enough. I try to have 40 ounces in by 9 am by having 16 ounces of milk between 5:45 and 6:30 am and 24 ounces of water during my workout from 6:45 until the time I get to the office at 8:30. Sometimes I still have to finish this up by 9 am. Then, 15 minutes after drinking I am allowed to eat and will have my breakfast. If I don't have this much liquid in my by 9 am, there is a good chance I will not get enough in for the day. By the time I leave work around 4 I have usually had another 20 ounces of flavored water and then have 16 ounces of tea or something at night after dinner.

Before I had my plastic surgery I had hit a plateau and was not getting in the liquids alluded to above. Once I starting be more conscientious to get in this amount of liquid, I was able to start losing again. However, I have had those months when I just simply was on a plateau, the good news is that they do eventually run their course. Keep your head up, you will get there.

Whoops...I cut myself off...

Where was I...oh yes, a professional bra fitting. I'll be honest. I'm 42 years old and I purchased bras the other day. I wear a 42c...trust me...if I could find a b, I'd buy it.

Ah...yea, so I go to Nordstrom and have my bra fitted...turns out I'm a 38dd.

Yikes.

I only purchased one of the bras they pulled for me because I think it will change as I lose weight, but think about how fab I'll look in Mexico in my "before" photo.
