lillianfaye
So I just got my first fill today it's been 8 weeks since my surgery and I've lost 30 lbs which my doctor says he's pleased with. But while at my visit I explained to him what I was eating, I have been going off a meal plan the dietician I was required to see before surgery, gave me. He said I was eating too much that it's not about the weight of food, I've been measuring by ounces, but the amount only 1/2 cup total. But I've been getting very hungry and have had horrible headaches. I guess I don't understand how our bodies can be nourished off a 1/2 cup of food 3 times a day for the rest of our lives. Does anyone else get horrible headaches and hunger pains? Am I thinking about this in the wrong way?

Listen to your body, sounds like it is talking to you. You don't have restriction yet, or at least good restriction. A 1/2 cup of food, at a really good restriction maybe. That is my opinion. Smiley
I agree with Angie. I have always heard 3/4 to 1 cup of food at each meal, with most people doing a cup. If you are truely hungry and getting headaches from being so, you need to listen to your body and eat - within reason of course. Where did you get your surgery done? AshleyMarie
I do not measure my food as I can often eat more than a cup of food. I get weak and dizzy if I do not get enough in and do eat small meals throughout the day. Dr. Ortiz, the fills Dr.'s and Dr. Miranda have all told me to not count calories, but to just make sure I eat about 1/3 of what I used to prior to surgery. I am a year and 3 months out and can still eat bread which most cannot. I do not eat it too often as I feel it can be a set back. If you are hungry, I would eat. There is nothing worse than feeling weak and having a headache. Just remember though that there is a big difference between head hunger and physical hunger. I ask myself to determine which I am experiencing before I put something in my mouth.
