ackovach
Hi Mona-Camille, I saw in your response to the alphabet game that you responded "xray your band periodically". How or where do you do you that? Is it the same thing as a flouro? And Does Dr. Ortiz do this on your first visit? Thanks, Amy
erin2796
Hi Amy, I'm pretty sure she was talking about the fluro but of course I could be wrong.
julieburns
Yes that's anther term for fluoro. When you have fills at the OCC they use fluoro and check your band.
Blazn
I have also read on several sites that it is recommended to have an upper endoscopy every two years to check for erosion. This can be done by a gastroenterologist. A scope (tube with light and camera) is passed through the mouth and into the esophagus and then into the stomach. The GI doc will check the pouch and the area of the stomach which the band surrounds to ensure that there is no internal erosion.
