Question about San Deigo beaches and hotels

Recommended Posts

So we fly in on monday and fly out on friday. I thought my freind and I who are both getting the band done could stay in a hotel on thur. in san deigo. I have never been there and would love to see the beaches and just be a tourist. Which area should we stay. What beach is close to the airport and nice and safe. Any suggestions for the trip? Dawn

MY DAUGHTERS STAYING NEXT WEEKEND AT THE OMNI DOWNTOWN. (BOYFRIEND LIVES DOWN THERE) I'VE ONLY STAYED THERE ONCE MYSELF BUT IT'S A NICE HOTEL. IT CAN BE PRICEY BUT IF YOU USE PRICELINE, IT'S PRETTY REASONABLE :)

When I had my surgery, we spent the next day in San Diego and stayed at the Hotel Solomar. It was fun to be in the gas lamp district (lots of people, cool things to see) and the hotel was great.

I live in SD and if you want to be close to the beach, you could stay at the Catamaran or Bahia in Mission Beach.... you'll get bayside and beach. Of course, there is always La Jolla, but lots of $$$$.

Hubby and I just got back and we stayed at the Homewood Suites on Harbor Bay. They have a little kitchenette and it was in a shopping center with a few places to eat. It is only 5 minutes from the airport. Have fun. Lora
