  3. I'm from Goodyear. A co-worker had her band placed by Dr. Simpson
  4. Beth, I was nervous regarding Mexico and their doctors as well. I am an LPN and was worried but let me tell you all was great!! The clinic is cleaner than any hospital I've seen, the staff are friendly and helpful and Dr. Ortiz is a miracle. I went with a fellow LPN and she was able to watch the whole procedure and Dr. Ortiz explained what was going on. I would definetly do it again. By the way do you have any of your personal doctors cell phone numbers?? They really care about their patients. However this is a decision you need to make but we are all here and have at some point had questions and doubts so please read the forum and ask everything. Good luck regardless if you go to OCC. Lora

  9. Sounds good to me since I am a little down regarding the scale...lol I can work on my feet all day and not cry at night from pain I can bend over the sink and do dishes and not end up with lower back pain All bras hook on the last hook and I can pinch atleast 2 inches in the cup ( :lb1: ) I can pull my knees to my chest and I dont feel like passing out I cant wait to add more!!!
  10. Evette, I completely agree. I actually was feeling the same way as iwantbanded and was really getting down on myself. I pulled out Dr. O's book and began reading the areas that I needed help with first and WOW!! I really started to realize that things are changing and everday I tweak it just a little more. This is the GREAT info I really enjoy getting on this forum. Thanks Evette. iwantbanded please hang in there I feel what you do right now and am working on the issues even as I write this. Much love and support to ya babe. Lora
  11. Very good question....here is my take. I used to go to bed prior to the band thinking about what I was gonna eat the next day and literally planning on how it would taste. Since the band I personally no longer have these thoughts. I am able to eat the three meals and feel good. If I do crave something I eat it within reason, although if I want ice cream a glass of milk satisfies me. A lot of foods that I would eat prior to banding no longer appeal to me such as mexican, fastfood, tea, soda, and sweet things especially popsicles. Good luck and keep us posted. Lora
  12. PaulaBee my thoughts are with you as are my hugs and well wishes. One thing that caught my attention regarding your brother and his treats, the next time he brings them and puts them in the freezer just go and throw them out or put them in the fridge so they are no longer good (I know easier said then done and it is money down the drain). Also I like your idea of going back to the table I need to do that as well. Please hang in there. Anita thank you for the info I need to make the time to read Dr. O's book. Have a great day ladies.....SMILES!!!! Lora
  13. thank you that will be handy for me to do next week. Lora

  15. Dr. Miranda also mentions that if you are feeling lethargic you are deyhdrated....make sure you are getting your fluids in....lots of water and you can drink crystal light as well. Hang in there Cathy we are all here for you. Lora

  18. Jessi, it sounds like you are on your way...keep up the wonderful work and keep us posted on your progress. Lora
  19. So as I stated I had my first fill on the 23rd. When I got on the scale at the OCC it read 266 which means I gained weight back. Well since I have been home and doing WONDERFUL with my new fill I have lost 5 pounds...YIPPEE!!! I have great restriction. I drink half of a protein shake for breakfast. About 5-8 bites of protein and 3-5 bites of fruit or veggies for both lunch and dinner. I have to eat by 11 am so that I can eat no later than 4:30 or I am still so full at 10 pm that I can't get comfortable enough to fall asleep. I don't snack between meals, if I feel hungry (which I think is mental) then I drink the other half of my protein shake or have water with one packet of special k protein tea and one packet of all bran fiber lemonade. I also make sure that I drink lots of water. By the way have I mentioned I LOVE MY FILL!!!!!! Lora
  20. Kimra, I'm not sure if we are however I am. I noticed during pre-op that it helped so I continued. Lora
  21. iwantbanded, my hubby and I were in San Diego the 22nd-24th and it rained the whole time off and on. When Brook, Sara and I crossed over on the 23rd for our fill the weather was just as bad. We even got to stand in drizzle as we walked back across the border. I don't recall if the pool is heated so beware it could be a little cool. Good luck on your fill. Lora
  22. Tatyana, I'm glad to hear that you are calling your doctor. Please keep us posted as to what he says and how things progress for you. Lora
  23. Dawn, I plan on getting some biotin for myself as my hair is real thin..the question I have is that my hubby is using Nioxin and Rogaine and I havent seen a difference should I have him start taking the biotin as well?? Thanks for the info. Lora
  24. Cathy, I did the slimfast optima and then switched to the Isopure which has twice the amount of protein. It also comes in a juice formula as well as a shake. It does cost more but I think it tastes good, my fav is the apple melon. Let me know how you are doing. Lora
  25. thanks for the great info I already have such thin hair and tend to lose alot even prior to the band. I need to pick some up. I love the info on here. Lora
