  1. I'm impatient too!!!! I just wish that the weight would just drop off. But I know I didn't gain the weight overnight and so I won't lose it overnight. Sometimes, I get hungry at night, but I just eat a sugar-free fudgesicle and get full and it satisfies my craving for something sweet. MAybe we can keep in touch and give each other updates on our progress and offer encouragement to each other. Rhonda quote name='LaurenLeigh' date='Oct 4 2007, 09:33 PM' post='16381'] Cool, another Georgia girl! Wow, you have lost 45 pounds already? That's awesome! I hope they really give me a good fill when I go there too. I'd love to get full from thick liquids. I'd lose weight fast! I'm so excited about it. It seems like it's taken FOREVER to get to this point! Lol. I'm so impatient.... ~Lauren
  2. Lauren, I had my surgery on June 6,2007 in TJ and I too do not remember much after they put my hose on and gave me the pill. All I remember is waking up and walking around to relieve the gas. I don'r remember leaving the clinic and going back to the hotel. I slept for the next day and then came back to Atlanta. I had my first fill at the end of July in Atlanta. So far, I have lost 45 pounds and have good restriction. I haven't tried to eat salad or anything reeally solid. bread and meat make me sick! So I eat yogurt and soup alot.
  3. I don't remember anything about my surgery. All I remember is them giving me something to make me relax and then being woke up by the nurse to get up and walk. I'm glad I didn't have the experinces that ya'll had. 44 pounds gone to date 56 more to go!!!!!!!! Rhonda
  4. Last night I ate something and it really made my stomach hurt. I was wondering about how I would know if my band had slipped, I hope not. So far I have lost 44 pounds since I was banded on June 6, 2007. Those are pounds I hope never to see again. Rhonda
  5. I know how ya'll feel. Fortunately, my children (19 &11) have been really supportive in my weightloss. My oldest daughter was really excited for me when I decided to have the lapband procedure and has been my rock since the surgery(June 6,2007). She tells me how good I look and how I need to buy new clothes. My youngest daughter is very sympathetic when I get sick if I eat something I shouldn't and she helps me pick out new foods to try. I have tried diet after diet and will have succes for a while, but then I go back to my old habits and gain the weight back plus more. About 6 months ago, I decided I was tired of feeling back and looking bad, I was miserable! I still have a long way to go, but I know that I will make it. I have about 2 years before my oldest daughter gets married and I want to look good for her wedding and I want her to be proud of me. My husband is also supportive, but not as much as my daughters. I went to see my mother in the nursing home the other day and she told me I hadn't lost any weight and it made me feel horrible, but i just took it in stride and continue to work toward my goal weight. Hope your journeys go as well as mine has so far. Beginning weight:230 Current weight:195 Goal weight:130
  6. I was banded on June 6, 2007 by Dr. Ortiz. So far, I have lost 35 pounds. I don't really feel hungry unless I don't eat all day, which is common because I am a school teacher and don't have time to get in my meals and snacks everyday. I usually drink a SlimFast for breakfast and have a yogurt for lunch, then yogurt and soup for dinner. I am doing the Leslie Sansone Express walking tape daily. I am trying so hard to lose the 100 lbs I need to lose. I have had 1 fill so far. Beginning weight-230 Current weight-195 Goal weight-130
  7. I think Darlene is only there every other weekend because she also works out of Moultrie. It was $299 for the initial consultation and close to $200 for the 1st fill which included the flouroscopy. I really liked Darlene and the staff there was real nice. Darlene made sure that the fill was right before she let you leave the office. My only problem was when I was ready to get my fill, the Roswell office wasn't open yet and they weren't sure when it was to open and they weren't scheduling appointments for Moultrie either.
  8. I had my first fill on August 3,2007. I have not been able to eat any solid food since then. I get really sick if I try to eat anything but puddings, yogurts, or soups. What could be the problem?
